Listen Guest_12822, you imitation Japanese, we had every right to drop the A-Bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Japanese government hid their weapons manufacturing plants among civilian populations, and by dropping them we shortened the war thereby saving lives on both sides. If the war had gone on any longer, the Soviets would have invaded Japan from the north and you would have had a divided Japan. Would you have liked that? Also, if Japan had developed the Bomb before us they would have used it on us and others in a heartbeat.
We nuked the shit out of them. I think that we punished them enough.
bostonian you are correct...except that all countries hide their arms plants and munition stockpiles amoungst their populations...there is an ordinance depo not 15 miles from my home that contains large stockpiles of nerve gas and other battlefield munitions...and mr japanese person you would have been under either russian or maybe ultimatly chinese control if the war had lasted much longer...the bomb was horrible even oppenheimer thought so but at that time it was the best way to end the war as quickly as possible-and with fewer dead than there would have been other wise--both sides. my dad was with the occupation in hokaido and he said most japanese were glad it was over and that the japanese civilians were relieved they didn't have to pay for the war crimes commited in china.

I forgive them, but I am only 18 years old. My grandfather who fought in WW2 got the chance to shake the hand of a japanesse solidear but he just couldn't do it. He didn't know why but he just couldn't do it.
I am not Japanese, but I am saying what about Hiroshima? The Americans bombed the hell out of those poor souls in Hiroshima. They killed thousands of people and ruined the lives of those that did not die.

FDR was informed before Japanese Pearl Harbour attack, yet he kept the Pearl Harbour military officers in the dark, so that he can turn American sentiment at that time to support the war! In reference to some of the responses I've seen I see no reason to insult Japanese citizens of today.Does anybody really hate everybody from any entire country?
I've encountered and inter-acted with many japanese (college students) in Boston. They are to a "T" a big bunch of spoiled brats, worse than any American Student I've ever encountered. And they are arrogant, sexist and racist as hell. Japan NEVER apologised for the terrible things they did (too numerous). Other Asians HATE them. Honestly, they are lucky we only dropped two bombs on them.
And why the hell do I keep on hearing the line "Everybody hates Americans"? Completely untrue. The average man and woman in the street do not HATE America or Americans. In my experiences (everybody seems to think Im Australian! My Boston accent?) people disliked The English and Germans far more than Americans. And in Asia they LOATH the Japanese.
Dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were terrorist acts, Japan's attack on The Pearl Harbor Naval Base wasn't.

Yes, that was the reason Tokyo wasn't choosen. It had far too much destruction already. They wanted to choose a "clean" site to show the nukes power.
