I agree with you on that, the college dorm baked chicken still is horrible, I took one bite and gagged. I stay away from that. The other food is ok, not great, but I stay away from stuff that I not familiar with like those vegetable quiches, yuck!
Chef's choice usually means the leftover from 5 days ago put in a blender and baked in casserole. Guaranteed to give you the runs within couple of hours.

A dreaded concoction of well-aged eggplant and sundry other biodegradables that they called Moussaka. They eventually stopped serving it, either due to lack of consumer interest, rising casualties, or the intervention of an angry Greek embassy.
Pizza at Zaland--a hopefully defunct pizza joint in Keenan Hall (U. Notre Dame)
My college's cafeteria was horrible - it was the same things every single meal: Pasta bar, Burger bar and Potato bar. Pasta bar was cold noodles with your choice of watered down melted cheese or watered down 'marinara' sauce on it. In quotations because I'm not really sure what was in that sauce. Potato bar was similar, with water-cheese mix you could slop on those suckers, and some congealed sour cream. And burger bar was SOY burgers with whatever kind of fried potato product they'd baked for lunch and had sitting around since. In college, I lived on cereal and ice cream because that was the only normal food they provided us. Once a month or so they'd have 'steak' and 'shrimp' night - also in quotes because it was really sliced rump roast and imitation shrimplets or something. And they were so chintzy you had to get tickets for your slice of meat they called steak, so nobody could have more than one. HORRIBLE. And I'd forgotten all about it until this question.

Hope there aren't any Army officers in here... Back when I was in high school, I took a tour of the Point, because I was considering attending, and had lunch there. Maybe it was a bad day in the mess hall, but the food was LOUSY.
