Fantasia BarrinoÂ’s fantasy of pop stardom became a reality when she was named the winner of Â“American Idol." Barrino grabbed runner-up Diana DeGarmo in a bear hug and twisted her around as tears streamed down her face. Barrino is a 19 year old single mother from High Point, N.C., with a powerful, gospel-tinged voice, topped DeGarmo, an effervescent 16-year-old from Snellville, Ga. Did the voters selected the right contestant as the American Idol, yes/no, why or why not?

Yes, she was/is the Best choice, she deserved to win.
No way, DeGarmo had the more pure voice.
I think the both of them are winners.

i believe American Idol is a racist show. You will never see a white man win a show. Nor will you ever see a white woman win the show either. I officially stopped watching last night.

Who cares? Modern pop music's rubbish. On the other hand, Simon Cowell's my kind of person. They should let him get *really* unpleasant with the little dorks. Jove knows I'm egging him on at home.

Oh, and Paula Abdul still induces major lust at the sight of her, 15 years past her career prime. How does she look so adorable after all of this time? Is this a "Picture of Dorian Abdul" kind of deal or what?
