COMMENTS:
Only a few people do unselfish things for selfish reasons such as supposedly upstanding members of the community who we very well know they are crooks, but try to pull the wool over our eyes in their supposed act of generosity or kindness to have you believing that they are good people when most of us know they are not. Some of these so called philanthropists are a good example of this kind of behavior. They try to justify their greed by becoming a philanthropist.
This is an extremely interesting question. I don't think I could answer "no". For example, I do volunteer work and I signed up for it to help out. But the act of doing it makes ME feel so good that I am always embarrassed about getting thanked for it. So am I being purely unselfish if I am getting so much from it?

Yes they do because making your consience or yourself feel good is actually a selfish reason in itself. Even if you risk your life for someone else it is for a selfish reason because you want to have a good consience and you want to make a lasting impression
So, would the lesson here be that there is no such thing as a an unselfish act...?
