The AP Reported that, Bush touts faith-based programs: President Bush, trying to revive a stalled initiative, stated that, the doctrine of separation-of-state should not prevent religious groups from competing for government money to help the needy. Would you advocate churches jockeying for government monies to help the needy, why or why not?

No, it is a clear violation of the principles of separation of state.
Yes, I am all for churches competing for government monies.

COMMENTS:
Really a hard decision, there is a clear line in the sand as to the seperation of church and state but they would be helping the needy.

I believe that this should be given to other help groups that have no relations with the government. This gives the needy help and it also keeps the line in the sand very clear.

The supreme court ruled long ago that government funds could go to religious institutions so long as it can be shown that the money isn't being used for religious purposes. That's why christian colleges can get federal money. This is a non-issue.

Government has no right giving my tax dollars to non profit, non tax paying churches.King george has clearly violated the separation of church and state. But then again the king himself semms to be getting quite used to violating peoples rights. To king george I say, go lick yer self, baby killer. Also, the supreme court has a habbit of ruling against the constitution quite often.
