COMMENTS:
They do whatever they can to silence the left, the poor, the common working men and women, the Libertarians, the Greens, the Reform party, the Independents, etc. The numbers just don't reach their target demographic.
Apparently it got your attention, Guest, or you wouldn't have responded so strongly. How 'bout taking a few deep breaths? Great ballot, by the way.

You're not trying to silence me, are you, random, anonymous Guest_f08f9?
He's not man enough to get a real profile, ignore him, Stewie.
I mean, man enough to register and log in.
Media is more of a liberal entity by nature. So no, there is no insidious right wing plot to silence the left. It is politics as usual, and whoever holds the most funds holds the broadcast power.Demos sometimes have this over the repubs and vise-versa.The bush machine just happens to be quite adept at campaign organization and funding...where as the Democratic party seems to have some organization issues with the campaign so far. And in response to your remarks in the question explanation...both Kerry and Dean have alot going against them as far as being a target for the other side. The left has been bitching so incredibly much lately, many people are really getting put off by it...maybe the media has picked up on that and is changing format slightly as a result of this. And if you were of a more conservative persuassion and someone was trying to tear you down, wouldn't you try and do what was in your power to silence them aswell?
not a conspiracy, a desperation :D

A formal conspiracy? No. But there *is* a concerted effort by various members of the Far Right and Religious Right to "take over the (perceived) Liberal Media." In addition, communication outlets are being assimilated at an alarming rate. More owners tend towards conservative bias; and owners control the money, so they directly or indirectly control content. The last three years has been especially bad. The Far Right successfully got people to believe Nationalism was Patriotism and used that fallacy to browbeat anyone who disagreed.
You know when I made this poll I seriously thought that I should restrict comments to registered members, but then I realized that none of the conservatives would have the balls to register on this site and comment publicly. I was right.
Guest_f08f9 - Al Frankin's "fact checkers" are students at Harvard. Thanks for the compliment.
It's there, kids. Just open your widdle eyes...
There is no conspiracy, the left has television hollywood, and the music industry, the right has fox news and AM radio.
The Left controls Hollywood, almost every major newspaper, all the major networks ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and the majority of music industry. Sounds like a conspiracy to silence to me.
whitemike3: Sorry I didnt see your comment when I posted mine.
No, there is a conspiracy to silence the Right.
Cathexis. A concerted effort by a group of people to achieve a result that most aren't informed about is a conspiracy.
I hope so.
Everything that's wrong with America can clearly be seen on Hannity and Colmes. Read Al Franken's book.
The left cannot be silenced. They will do or say anything a lie is fairgame if someone will believe it.and if they tell enough of them somenieve soul may believe one. Well, if they're lying, can you tell us, enlightened one, what in the Hell has gone right in Iraq? People claim that the left lies, but what has gone right?

cretin: Perhaps. I view it as a matter of 'degree.' Then again, I have evolved my opinion on this question. After seeing teh antics of the past 5 years, I have to change mya nswer -- yes, I do believe there is a conspiracy against the Left. Further, I believe it has been decades in the making.
