Love actually activates certain brain chemicals that have the same effects psychologically as opiates. Seriously! That's why falling head over heels in love with someone's so thrilling.
Yes GS the human being is a socially inclined creature that in most cases prefers the company of its own kind particularly of the opposite sex with young to mature adults.
I like the answer Felix gave you too, as it is quite true.
You guys are right, it is human instinct to prefer being social with other humans, especially those of their sexual preference. Those are good points. However, I know many people who like being single, and few who truly hate it, like me. This is why I am wondering.
Attachment styles have a lot to do with it. Some people feel more of a need to be 'connected' than others.

You spend to much time on BestandWorst buddy! Go out, get a tan and hang out at Walmart. You'll find one
Actually, I have a pretty good tan already. It's just that I'm not the only man in the world. Sure, I'm not Justin Timberlake, but I'm not Richard Nixon either.
No, everyonne gets lonely.. take the time you are alone to find out about yourself, experience new things... don't let your identity be -who you are with-. Time is short, enjoy yourself. This sounds funny but this is why I love being single ;)
