Do you believe that we should be able to choose not to go on suffering and ask for humane assistance, in the same way we would ask a veterianarian to put our pet out of its misery?

COMMENTS:
why not? it's so self-righteous amd pompous of us to not let people do with their lives what they see fit.

personally, i believe ultimately it's God's choice to end a person's life, but many people cannot accept this.

i am a christian, but i have no power over another person's life and if they choose to end it, that's unfortuanate but it's their choice, not mine.

I don't believe in euthanasia, but if someone is dying and in a great deal of pain, I see nothing wrong in giving the patient strong painkillers (including illegal drugs) so that the person can die with dignity. Particularly if there's a remote chance of survival and recovery. I don't think it's humane to keep people alive for years on machines if they're never going to recover.

Unlike an abortion the dying has a choice in the matter.
