ok ok..three small patrol boats, along with their crews, were captured by the Iranian maritime Border defence service. they could have put up a resistance, but they would have been very quickly killed and a war would follow.
and before you mention the USA saving anyone, remember what happened the last time: Operation Eagle's Claw? ever heard of that one? an american attempt to rescue hostages from Tehran, which ended in disaster and defeat, largely due to technologicaly shoddy equipment.
the British government is currently negociating their release, and if the sailors are not released, military action will follow. if you americans choose to help us as we did you, your help will be very welcome.
