COMMENTS:
not to be insensitive, but he knew what he was getting into when he went to Iraq. Doesn't he have any dignity? If I was in the same situation, I would accept my fate instead of blubbering.

Like the italian they executed a while back, he died like a man. Have to respect that.
By the way, if they do give in and withdraw their troops, wouldn't that encourare their enemies to kidnap and execute korean citizens in the future? People tend to repeat tactics that are successful.
its bushes fault
Just to stick it to the terrorists, S. Korea should send in 6,000 troops instead of 3,000. The only way to deal with terrorists is to do the opposite of what they want. To give in only encourages more hostage taking.
How do one die with dignity LCD? I would like to know how I would behave in the same situation. However, one never knows how one will react, especially if you know you are going to die and what will be the cause of your death (beheading). I would prefer not knowing the means, just knowing you are going to die had to be difficult for this person. Well as you all know by now, he was beheaded as I anticipated he would be. I believe he did die with dignity, he displayed the human side of this ugly act by pleading. Those who did not cry out and plead on camera, I am certain they did so absent the camera, which would be expected. Many have said that, (to include Bush) each country Government should not give into the terrorist by meeting their demands. Therefore, people continue to die because each leader decision causes the death of the dead. I think those who say you can not give into terrorist demands would be singing or should I say, crying a different tune if their heads were on the chopping block, just a few observations and thoughts.
well, if I was in the same situation, I would take the time to say goodbye to my loved ones, and express your views about the war, whatever they may be. I actually agree with Bostonian. Korea should have responded with an ultimatium. return the hostage within 24 hours or 30000 troops will be sent. Of course, then we can chuck world peace goodbye, since everybody will be ready to cut everybody else's throats....

This man, like the others, was doomed the minute they got their hands on him.No decision by the South Korean government would have changed his fate. This is the game terrorists play. They love the media coverage. My prayers are for the family members of these unfortunate souls. Nothing short of rounding up every last terrorist and putting them to death will end this mess at this point. They have been laying in wait for the kind of media coverage for a very long time, and they will not give up the spotlight until we take it from them. Stop the media presence and realize that the media is fueling the fire. Imagine how they love the hate they have fueled for America with their propoganda. It is working for them. If the world and our government can't see that, there is something wrong. Just like a child throwing a tantrum, if you don't continue rewarding them with attention, they get no positive results from their atrocities. Not to say that it would all stop completely and immediately, but I'm willing to bet that we'd get better results by ending media coverage than by continuing with it.
Seeing as Bush wants the war to spread throughout the middle east (remember he is supposedly a Christian and we are meant to think that he thinks the war of Armageddon and the return of Christ are actually going to happen) there will probably be many more news stories that cause hatred between different portions of the human race. With regard to how I feel about the latest propaganda man: It is difficult to feel sorry for anybody other than the people that are unfotunate enough to live there. I will also probably feel very sorry for the Americans who are going to be drafted into Bush's death squads because they think they have no choice.
Where are the intelligence agencies? All contractors should be set up with GPS signals so when they are taken hostage, the special ops can go in blasting.
** karma **
Well, you got it half right anyway Janche, that piece of trashy, hate & war monger Goofy Wittless Bush got everyone into that mess...The muslims and Israel were doing just fine, killing each other 7 daya week without any interference from anyone else. Until the dipsh*t decided to get payback for daddy.
Look its as simple as this when you put yourself in a position like he did there are certain risks involved, now no one wants to die but hell no one has a choice. Look at it this way, there are some soldiers who joined the military for the easy pay i mean light work load in peace time and the benefits are great, but now theres a war and some of them dont want to fight. Thats not right either. My opinion is that if you make a commitment or put yourself ina situation then you should always expect the worst. Trust me my uncle just came home from Iraq. He was a contractor over there for a few months, there is sooooo much that goes on that we never know about. For example they killed his whole security detail and no one on the news ever mentioned any of their names. So its good to assume that if the news/government tells us that we lost 3 americans today its probably more like 7-8. So in closing you should know the consequences of your actions and understand them, i think the korean man probably realized that during the tape and just couldnt accept that his life was over.
Nope, america didn't get him into that mess. He got himself into it
