I have *never* heard anyone say that, in Texas, the Deep South, or anywhere else. Unlike you, I'm actually there on a regular basis. Not even one of the most diehard Republican, Rush Limbaugh show listening, unwavering Iraq War supporting, Fox News watching, editorial page ranting, Bill Clinton baiting, "nuke Mecca" types has even remotely suggested that in my presence, and I'm pretty neutral publicly on politics so both far right and far left types will begin raving in front of me, at ease in my company. The good old boy contingent may hate and loathe the Berkeley commies, want to beat the living crap out of Michael Moore, and think Kerry's war record's a fake, but none of them I've met have suggested tossing anyone out of the country for hating the Dubya. I'm sure there may be a handful somewhere--who all want to call talk radio so their lunatic views can be aired--but they can't be that common. You really need to leave California more often and get some more depth on other points of view that may be exceedingly unlike your own. You fantasize a bit--like the ancient Greeks who imagined one-eyed men who hopped around from place to place on a single leg somewhere in darkest Africa.
It was the Hollywood pinko's that said they would leave the country if Bush was elected. I'm still waiting for them to make good on their promise.
Because they are uneducated and sadly misguided, following his lies like cattle to the slaughter. They are paraphrasing the old "America, love it or leave it" saying. They don't realize that it's precisely because I DO love my country that I want to see it guided by the right person, not that corrupt, wannabe cowboy who should be impeached.
People who don't think themselves will be very easily manipulated by the propaganda. Loyalty to the president is not equal to loyalty to the country. I believe the saying "Sometimes, dissidence is the highest form of patriotism"
