That sounds like a terrible situation to be in. If the dog ran right in front of you, then it wasn't your fault. If I honestly believed that it was unavoidable, then I wouldn't turn myself in. Wow, that sucks : (
No, I would be too lazy to turn myself in, plus I dislike talking to people, especially those who work for the government.
You saw it on the news? Why would anyone do a news story about a dog getting hit? I kinda think your story is a big fat lie, but hey, I'll play ball. Go turn yourself in. I'm sure the old lady will understand why being on time for class was more important to you than possibly saving the life a dog you hit, or at least letting the owner know what happened...
It was local news human interest story, not MSNBC. It was called 'tragedy for a local senior citizen'. If I had stopped the dog still would have died. I do feel I should let the owner know, but like I said I broke the law. I could do jail time or have to pay some fine I can't afford.
Don't let my wife hear about what you did, she is a pet lover and will probably cry for a week :)
