i saw that baseless proofless piece of whack off. mike moron's a fucking shit bag. he's got a place waiting for him in hell.
Why? Because he made a movie? G.W. Bush is the one that has a place waiting for him in hell, talk about a lying, murdering, racist piece of trash. All Michael Moore ever did was make a movie and he has a place in hell waiting on him, interesting and typical Republican flare for the theatrics...
I saw it, I have never seen people applaud like that after a movie. It is a very important work.
lots of movies hit box office # 1 after release. It's nothing special. I could say the same for lots of movies.
Wasn't 'dodgeball' #1 just before f911? Doesn't really mean anything. And what ever happened to moore being censored by the government/disney conspiracy? It would seem that if they did a good job censoring this movie then no one would have seen it, rather than it being the top grossing film at the moment. What's that? You mean it was another lie concocted by moore for publicity reasons? He fabricated the entire thing out of thin air? I'm shocked that moore would stoop to such a dishonest tactic, he's usually so straightforward and honest.
Not paying to watch a Fictional movie that is portrayed as being true.

The whole movie is built on conspiracy theories. Like that other movie. "9/11 The road to tyranny" All mike did was go to infowars.com and built it from there.

I haven't seen it yet, cha'mone? Is Ben Stiller in it? He's in everything.
He's not showing us anything new since Alex Jones' film two years ago. He's not getting my nine bucks. Whether it's fiction or not, I couldn't tell you.
(that Disney stuff happened you know..? They weren't brave enough to stay with it, they just couldn't, no one but you said that they 'censored' it)

Well someone else fell for his lies. Disney told him when production began that they wouldn't distribute his film. Then all of a sudden, as soon as he gets done producing it, he comes out with this 'disney won't let me show you my movie' line, even though he knew all along. And people like you bought it.
I never heard him say "disney wouldn't show my movie", I never paid that much attention to mr moore, all i know is that Disney helped make it and then couldn't/wouldn't distribute it. "people like you".. please.. as if you know Me. calm down

Fortunately mr moore has plenty of people like you, yes 'people like you', out there who 'don't pay much attention' and just take his word for these things. Otherwise he wouldn't be the multimillionare he is today.
Who cares? I know liberals are wishing, hoping and praying that this waste of celluloid is the cultural lightning rod that Moore's ego believes it is. But a #1 summer movie with a box office of $21 million only means that Spider Man hasn't been released yet. Unfortunately the propoganda spoused in this flick does little to foster debate on ISSUES, and once again, selfishly, turns the spotlight on how obnoxious Moore can be with a camera on the sidestreets of D.C. when he sees one of those 'evil' Republicans trying to go to work at a real job. Sorry Baby, you've wasted more of your time trying to homage your Saint Michael. Somebody put Baby in the corner.
thanks for assuming I'm a fan of his, but if you think about it you'll see that what you said is all I replied to. Oh but lump me into any pigeon hole you can imagine brainiac, it's left and right and black and white and right and wrong all the way, don't hurt your brain thinking about anything from any side but your own.

You yourself admitted that you knew nothing about what was going on with disney, then you came out and supported moores side of it. You are exactly the type of person he is counting on. I'm basing this all on your own statements, if you want to start bitching about me pigeon holing you.
Partisan politics is really beginning to disgust me. There's so much fucking arrogance. People need to take "sides" for some reason; that way it's easier to talk about those damn liberals or those damn conservatives. Yes or No? Right or Left? Black or White? An entire civilization of people cannot be placed in these neat little ideological categories - as if we're all mindless automatons stuck to the end of a huge magnet. I think if everyone would try to at least understand and respect everyone else's point of view (which, thankfully, is done - by and large), we could at least have a measure of human dignity. I blame the media. Our age of instant information has yielded a shephard and sheep type of mentality that almost brings tears to my eyes.
(okay sorry to drag this one out but I just read over what I said and I did not really "support Moore's side" any more than I supported Disney, you're the one who said "censored by the government/disney conspiracy", that's a pretty radical thing to say.. "You are exactly the type of person he is counting on"?? He doesn't have to 'count on' people who think for themselves.)

Get a grip Applerod. Political debate is a viable and important part of American political history. Choosing sides and arguing is not always a declaration of your convictions, often times it's just for the fun of the fight. I agree with your point that we need to respect each other's views, but sometimes, firing off a heated missive directly at someones IS a measure of respect. It's a respect that they will come back with more worthy material for you to dissect. It's all in good fun Apple.

Everyone who doesn't mindlessly accept moores view of the world is a sheep.
You must think exactly as I do or else you are a mindless sheep following the herd. My unquestioning drones are the only free thinkers left in the world. Sounds kinda dumb doesn't it x?
um.. ..did I say "Everyone who doesn't mindlessly accept moores view of the world is a sheep." why no, I did not say that did I? Those are you're words, along with that "all of you", "yout type" stuff, if that sorta thing helps you make your point with simple folk then fine carry on, go ahead and assume whatever you need to about me dude :p it's making me proud

Well, supposablethumbs, you make a good point. I am by no means espousing the notion that political debates aren't essential to maintaining a healthy democracy. Perhaps I take the debates a bit too seriously sometimes. However, when we enter the arena where people's lives, the sake of our country, and our way of life hang in the balance, that is NOT the time to argue just for the sake of arguing. In fact, I regard arguing for fun (in the subject of politics) as squabbling. I notice this most when people are focusing more on the MANNER in which the issues are being presented, instead of the issues themselves. Many people use the minutiae of a particular topic as ammunition to bolster the credence not only of their opinion, but their confidence and comfort in their point of view. But I don't blame people for it. When you're trying to make a strong point, you need all the ammo you can get. I just think we'd be better off if we stood back from ourselves from time to time, and tried to analyze the situation from a more rational, logical, and unbiased (as much as one can be) third-person perspective.
...Furthermore, personal attacks are not the hallmark of a productive political discussion.
Stolen election, fake terror attack, illegal war, prisoner abuse photos, 11,000 civilian casualties, reduction of American civil liberties, plans for more invasions, Moore's emotive film. The plan to make the world hate America is going extraordinarily well. As if the government is going to simply let anyone blow the whole show. If Moore really was a maverick hack on a mission to save America he would have died in a handy plane crash by now. I reckon he is a pro UN propagandist. I'll just go and check.
Look what I found. A letter from Michael Moore to Kofi 'Lets form a World Religion' Annan. Michael Moore to Kofi Annan November 11, 2000 To: Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan From: Michael Moore, citizen 'Dear Mr. Secretary General: Help us! Massive election fraud is taking place in an area that looks like a banana republic -- but is actually part of the United States of America! We are sitting here helpless as our leaders appear unable to do anything about this stolen election. On behalf of freedom-loving people everywhere, I appeal to the world community and the United Nations for immediate intervention. There is ample evidence to indicate that the votes of thousands of our citizens were not counted or, worse, were given to a man who has a sister named "Bay." Further evidence also shows that hundreds of African American voters were simply not allowed to vote. I ask that you appoint humanitarian ambassador/carpenter Jimmy Carter to head up an official United Nations team of election observers from Rwanda, Brunei, Bosnia and South Africa and send them to this state we call "Florida." They are desperately needed to oversee the re-count, the hand-count and any other forms of counting being conducted by people who apparently can count. Remember that guy Milosevic in Yugoslavia trying to claim victory when he got the least number of votes? He would love Florida! Next to watching greyhound dogs run in circles, election fraud is South Florida's favorite pastime (I am enclosing, for your observer team, copies of the Miami Herald series on voter fraud which won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize). It appears on the surface that lame graphic design is at the root of this ballot problem, especially in Palm Beach County where Jewish votes were given to a man who always has a nice word to say about Third Reich.' A crass publicity stunt but very similar to Henry Kissinger's quote about UN soldiers on American soil. Moore is part of the game. He is as edgy as a satsuma.
Points well taken Applerod. All the grandstanding, yelling, emoting and baiting that dresses up an argument generally serves to subtract from the substance of what is being said. However all those aforementioned tactics are crowd-pleasing and create the 'sport' of public debate, or the spark that draws people to the fire. My hope is that the world can move toward your idyllic suggestions for public debate. It would require patience, listening and even more importantly...it would create more preparation on behalf of those arguing their positions. If you know that people are going to give you time to make your statement, as well as actually listen to it, then there is a greater responsibility to think long and hard before you speak. The high water mark in American public discourse is often acknowledged as the Lincoln-Douglas debates. If you ever see them re-created, you would be struck by how eloquent each speech is, how pertinent the subject matter, how dignified the actors are, and how unintrusive the moderator is. Also, there isn't a slew of media lined up to fire hot-potato questions at Lincoln and Douglas. I agree that we lost something over the years in that respect. However, it's good fun just to be able to spout off in a format like this for entertainment/personal conviction reasons. Our culture is so instantaneous these days that it rubs off on the mentality of the public. People are more aggressive than pensive. There's a place for both obviously, and it's trying to strike the right balance that makes debate so interesting.
Amen. I didn't know anything about the Lincoln-Douglas debates until you brought it up. I just scanned a bit of it (and plan to more), and there is so much eloquence, selflessness, and RELEVANCE in those words. I guess that's why Lincoln was shot. I think I'm beginning to understand why conflict is not only natural, it is ESSENTIAL. I wonder if it doesn't all come down to individual, relative psychology including, but not exclusive to: cognitive distortions, and ego defense mechanisms. Fascinating stuff.
...well I was a fool to say "it all comes down to something", because that is a gross oversimplification of a tremendously complicated topic. Sociology, culture, history, money, power, religion, philosophy, ethics (thanks Best & Worst) also fit into this massive equation.
Also, there isn't a slew of media lined up to fire hot-potato questions at Lincoln and Douglas. 'Was lessons have you learned from Iraq Mr President?' 'Err. Like. Err. Eye Rack was...those terrists are evil... and err... let freedumb rain.' Michael Moore is a pro UN propagandist.
Our country is in a war against an enemy who would destroy our way of life, our culture and kill our people. These barbarians have shown through 9/11 and the recent beheadings that they will stop at nothing. I believe this film emboldens them and divides our country even more.
9/11 ,9/11, 9/11!! Thank God that happened, otherwise Bush might have been unable to carry out his sick policies in the Middle East. Michael Moore is pro-UN propagandist.
This asshole is telling terrorists to aim their planes at Republicans. This was one of his first public quotes after 9/11: 'If someone did this to get back at Bush, then they did so by killing thousands of people who did not vote for him! Boston, New York, DC, and the planes' destination of California--these were places that voted against Bush!'
