As satisfying as that might be, it is impractical, in at least some cases. For example, for legislative (Congress) and Judicial office, a background in Law is a requirement.
I'd suggest that greater oversight/regulation may be a preferable route.
So I guess a law allowing lawyers to be thrown out into the streets and beaten to death isn't anywhere on the horizon. Too bad.
