COMMENTS:
Once upon a time, I was INCREDIBLY stoned and felt that I was still just a bundle of chemicals in the PRIMEVAL SOUP and that what we perceive as the world was just a figment of our collective imagination.
Actually, it wa sthis line of thinking, espoused by Hume, Locke, and others (I believ) that almost paralyzed the budding discipline of the early 1600s to a complete standstill -- what was *real* vs what was perception or illusion. How could anyone really *know* what was true? How could one even be *sure* that they existed? The obstacle was finally removed by Descarte, who famously postulated *I think; therefore, I am.* With this basic axiom, it was now possible for philosophers to move forward, under the now-accepted premise *I do exist*.
correction: "discipline of Philosophy"
Is mentation proof of existence? How about just "I am"?
Ha. The answer to this is simple. NO
Form is emptiness.
Everything we experience through the senses is an illusion (in the sense that it ultimately goes away). However, for the illusion to exist, for transience to exist, there must be an enternal, absolute reality.
On an Eastern note: all things are perfect. Even your thought of imperfection is part of the perfection. Hard to refute.
I fwe "know" than yes consisness does exist.
