Do you mean: Is there a *current* cure for AIDs?
No ... otherwise some corporation would be busy milking profits and parlaying the fame into major advertising.
It doesn't look too good; the virus only becoming more resistant to all of these drugs used to treat it.

At this time there is almost no excuse for anyone to get AIDS. Here's how not to get AIDS:
Don't have unprotected sex with a high-risk partner.
Don't shoot up with dirty needles.
Don't get pregnant if you already have AIDS or are HIV positive.
If you run a hospital, maintain high standards when making blood transfusions. Who doesn't know this?
Unless you get raped by an AIDS patient or attacked with an infected needle, you're an idiot if you get AIDS.
Potentially, there's a cure for any virus infection. But HIV is a tricky one and it mutates quickly.
I have been tested and it is the most agonizing wait in the world. Straight people are funny, I know a lot of straight people that don't get tested, they seem to just rather not know if they have it or not.
It would be nice to know that science was close to a cure or even onto something, but at this point a don't have any reason to feel too optimistic that kind of news will come soon. Probably not for many years, if at all in my lifetime.
Magic Johnson did not get "cured", he, like many others is responding to treatment and not showing any symptoms.
He is still 100% infectious, no way has yet been found to stop the virus from infecting others.
Anyone, of any sexual pusuasion, who has unprotected sex is a complete fool, unless they know that the person they are having sex with, is is not infected or has NEVER had sex with another person.
I have friends who have been positive for nearly twenty years.

Perhasp you come from a world where all pregnancies are planned. I have heard of that world, but haven't seen it.
I suggest your analysis is a bit simplistic and you have a tendency to view this as a completely behavioural problem, thus the victims get what they deserve.

AZT is a rejected form of chemotherapy, and although phenomenally profitable for the pharmaceutical industry, it is so destructive to white blood cells - and all other dividing cells - that a growing number of researchers now believe that AZT promotes AIDS and that many patients who succumb to AIDS are in fact poisoned to death by AZT and other costly, toxic, anti-viral drugs.
The mathematics of exponential progression indicates that if AIDS were readily transmissible through sexual contact between healthy heterosexuals, then a large percentage of the human race would have been wiped-out during the last 20 years. To the contrary, the percentage of healthy (this obviously excludes the poor, malnourished folks in Africa, where AIDS is a burgeoning public health catastrophe) heterosexuals afflicted with AIDS has been stuck at 5% in the U.S. despite the continuing popularity of sexual intercourse. HIV may be sexually transmissible, and is unquestionably associated with AIDS, but the theory that HIV is the sole and sufficient cause of AIDS is less plausible, in light of the scientific evidence, than either of the following two theories: 1) the combination of various immunosuppressive factors (i.e., nutritional deficiency, poor sleep habits, chronic recreational drug use, promiscuity, etc.) possibly along with HIV, cause AIDS, or 2) immunosuppressive lifestyle factors, particularly long-term recreational drug use, cause AIDS, and HIV is one of many opportunistic viruses that afflicts immune-compromised individuals (under the second theory, HIV infection would be an effect rather than a cause of AIDS).
In the fall of 1986 the Soviets shocked the world by claiming that HIV was secretly developed at Fort Detrick, the U.S. Army's biological warfare unit. Although the claim was dismissed as "infectious propaganda", Russian scientists had worked hand in hand with biological warfare scientists in the transfer of viruses and virus-infected tissue into various non-human primates (monkeys, apes, chimps) during the 1970s before AIDS appeared. With improved international relationships, the Russian accusation vanished.
AIDS manifests in a bewildering spectrum of 30 non-specific, heterogeneous diseases.
This is consistent with the heterogeneity of the causative toxins.
There are several types of new AIDS viruses and more to be discovered, and who is to say how the new ones, not yet mutated, will spread -- a sneeze perhaps?

No need to test. I've been celibate for sixteen years now. (Don't laugh- you NEVER KNOW.)
As for whether there's a cure, I say there is, beecause i've had gov't ties long enough to know that research into the subject has been going on for at least THIRTY YEARS.
An interesting sidebar- Pat Robertson, the fun guy who runs CBN, once began an in-depth study of the origins of AIDS about two yearsa after the first major outbreak within the gay community, when almost no one bothered to raise an eyebrow of concern for thinking that this was just "God's revenge on gays". He found a LOT of odd and interesting ties between the Gov't and several of the major drug companies, and even made a plausible case for having located a Patient Zero, which was fifteen years BEFORE the Gov't determined Patient Zero. After that, he seemed almost GIDDY with excitement, and promised to "stay on top of the issue until the truth was found". The VERY NEXT DAY, he BACKED AWAY from his previous stories, and has NEVER mentioned the matter SINCE. Wonder what happened to HIM...
i feel the gov't created AIDS and therefore must have a cure for it. they wont tell us cuz they want the "unwanted" people to keep getting AIDS and dying, the unwanted people being blacks and gays/lesbians. it amazes me though how many people i know who either havent been tested or are having unprotected sex. i know one guy who claims he NEVER used a condom EVER! thats scary, another girl i know slept with so many people she cant even remember how many guys it has been. the point is you cannot tell by looking at someone if they have it and dont feel like if you know them then its ok its not. i personally DO NOT sleep with anyone till we go together and get tested, even then you have be sure that they are not cheating on you cuz they can bring it home to you, just please be careful
I think the major pharmaceutical companies are looking for cures for diseases or conditions that affect a greater number of people. If they could find a cure for the common cold, cancer, cardiovascular diseases,
poor eyesight, or something like that, imagine how much goodwill they would generate, assuming the price being charged will adequately compensate them for their research costs, as well as allow them to make a reasonable profit, not an excessive one.
ahhhhh, I'm just a fucking disease!!!
