Well, I suppose that would depend to a great extend on my ability to purify water by boiling it, and then on my food reserves, and my ability to forage or kill for sustenance. Fire would help things out A LOT. If I had no fire, I would drink whatever water I could find (and worry about the parasites later). Unless I happened to be in the vicinity of some edible plant matter, I'd be pretty much screwed food-wise - because even if I managed to somehow catch an animal to eat it, how am I going to do that if it's raw and furry? (A knife would be quite helpful) I suppose if I could stomach eating bugs, then it might come down to that just to survive. Of course, people can go a lot longer without food than without water - so if you can at least find that, give yourself about a week, until you starve, or you start to get sick from the parasites you are drinking. For shelter, a pile of leaves actually makes a very good stop-gap solution. That will help to keep you from freezing, because your own body heat is trapped and insulates you. If you can dig and enclose a cavity of some sort, you can stay warm enough to sustain you through VERY COLD temperatures.
Not a problem, I love going into the forest and mountains and have sufficient survival skills to find food and water. The worst part is leaving to come back to the city. The need to survive is a great moyivator for resourcefulness
That was supposed to say great motivator for resoucefulness
It would be nice.
Grizzly Adams I am NOT. A CITY BOY, born and bred, that's me...
Let's be real here for a moment, true believers. No TV, no Internet, no CD system to blast Zep IV- you're talking one insane Seeker of Truth.
