COMMENTS:
Mostly, Religion is good, since people need something to hold on to (Christ, Allah, Moses... Whatever) in hard times - but religious fanatics are abusing their religions, making them into twisted versions to fit their own agenda (Suicide bombers, for example)
You can tell it's Halloween can't you? Creatures of the night like Archangel, blurring the lines between good and evil and trying to switch attention away from the crimes of George Bush. He'll be advocating a phony World Religion worshipping Lucifer next.
Some major assholes in the south actually want creationism taught as a science in puplic schools. If I ever hear a doctor about to operate on me say he buys creationism I will run as far away from that hospital as my legs can take me. I'll probably be running north.
There is a gap between the theory (human beings are one and lets all get along) and practice (biblical rhetoric masking insane, criminal wars to bring about global government). You are right. Christians should not try to bring about an End Times scenario but they are. Some of them can't wait till the nukes start going off because it means their saviour will arrive soon and tell them how to think. People are too prepared to just let all this happen despite the fact it is so obviously wrong.
Religion is made with a good intention but often misused for bad intentions. This misuse brings atheists and other denominations to dislike those of a certain religion, thinking that they are all either corrupt people trying to scare others into following their beliefs and giving up their money or stupid people who believe the teachings of the corrupt. However, many use religion as a source of comfort from the harsh realities of life. In conclusion, religion is a good thing, but like any good thing, it can be used for a bad purpose.

Guest_b83d8 is wrong to call me a liar. The BBC's Tom Carver used the 59% figure. The BBC can usually be trusted to use accurate poll information.
religion is a beautiful thing! just having a belief in God and being able to pray and believe that things will get better is wonderful. i feel that without God you have no faith, or hope. you believe in science and that miracles can't happen. in my oppinion, i could not survive in this hell on earth without God, and a belief that someday things will be better.
More bare-faced lying from know nothing creeps. It's the people who wrongly claim to know God's will and interpret God's word that need your money.
Cleopatra. Faith or belief in God is right and good. Everybody knows this fact on an intuitive level despite being brainwashed from birth that there is no God. I think religion is a different thing altogether. Religion seems only to divide people when it should unite.
216.86.87.155 quotes me out of context when the source is directly above. The important bit was "on an intuitive level." Some people can't or don't use intuition. Some ignore what their intuition tells them because they would rather believe dogma that reduces things to their simplest, most easily understandable form. Like Occam's Razor. Idiots. And stop following me around 216.86.87.155. You are like a bad smell.
Like George Bush? He put mentally people to death while governor of Texas. Don't forgive our trespasses as we don't forgive people who trespass against us.
