COMMENTS:
It couldn't be any more divided than it is now (I HOPE).

I know everyone doesn't feel this way and I'm probably going to catch some grief for this but I think you should support the president, even if he's not the one you would have picked. I do not care for Kerry but, when/if he wins, he will be my president and I will support him. I think it makes our country appear weak to the rest of the world when we can't even stand together on a single issue. I used to believe in Bush and now I have no idea what's going through the mans head but he's still my president and until he isn't anymore, I will support him and our troops. (wincing now knowing I'm going to be blasted for this comment) :) be gentle.
how could anyone say something mean to that comment

He should send the Vice President to S. Cali for a little R & R! Oh, unless it's Cheney, never mind!

Hmmm ... looks as if we're going to continue dividing after the election, so far.
Maybe we could have another civil war, things have been getting too complacent here anyway.
I'll need to buy a rifle before november then. Given the politcal slant of the military and the attitude most liberals have about guns I'll have to get in on the action quick or I'll miss all the fun.
Jk btw.
herz: Welcome to the Ashcroft list. ;-)
How to make the country less divided? The solution is incredibly obvious, don't you think?: KILL ALL THE REPUBLICANS! SPARE NO ONE!! FOOLS! >:) Hmmmm... great question. Well, first of all, the President and his staff should have more contact with the public. And the press shouldn't be mincing around the important questions with the President just because he's the President. Ask the TOUGH questions, for a change! This way, there is less a feeling of division and detachment between the people and the government. Come out into the public, and EXPLAIN your opinions and actions. That way, although we may disagree with them, we have a better handle on what is it we're disagreeing WITH, instead of trying to decipher edited information coming out of the slanted mouth of some pundit on T.V. Case in point: President Bush is for a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. Ok. Why? DISCLOSE ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC in a reasonable, understandable manner. (And as long as it doesn't threaten our national security) Do reasonable things to decrease the gap between the ultra-wealthy and the ultra-poor. Not only does money buy political influence, it influences the ability of a person to make political decisions. And, as you say, the nomination of centrist judges (which should be mandatory, as far as I'm concerned), and more encouragement of bipartisan cooperation in the House and the Senate would certainly help. Plus toads. I'm not sure how they're going to fit into this equation, but they're just so damned cute! :)
Apple: You laugh, but I worry that a not-unsubstantial number of the US populace feels pretty much that way: force them or force them out.
This ballot is not valid. The election has not yet taken place so it is impossible to tell how it will affect the country. (this really starts to suck when people do this, doesn't it Cathexis, coming up with ridiculous reasons to spout off problems about people's ballots)
(looking forward to a civil war and a chance to gun down 'liberals', and then "tehe, I'm joking".. nice..)

You people that are voting not to cooperate: What if you are in the minority?
