COMMENTS:
There are a number of cultures and languages in the EU that are endangered (the Sami/Lapps of northern Sweden and Finland come to mind off hand). The principle of the EU is to avoid domination by one or a few languages, cultures or ideologies and protect its diversity. I wish I had the EU constitution handy though; I'm not so familiar with it. I live in the USA, not Europe.
"The principle" should be "a major principle", and I'm making too many mistakes tonight and it's annoying me.
Apparently it's going to run to thousands of pages. The lawyers must be rubbing their hands together already. I'd like to see a one or two page document of key points which children would be able to recite, like the American Constitution, but in various languages. I can imagine problems with this, as the precise meaning of a particular word in a particular language will be contested. Maybe because it will be multi-lingual it will be more resilient and less open to misinterpretation, deliberate or otherwise.
Conscious that Europe is a continent that has brought forth civilization; that its inhabitants, arriving in successive waves since the first ages of mankind, have gradually developed the values underlying humanism: equality of persons, freedom, respect for reason, Drawing inspiration from the cultural, religious and humanist inheritance of Europe, which, always present in its heritage, has embedded within the life of society its perception of the central role of the human person and his inviolable and inalienable rights, and of respect for law, Not a patch on the American Constitution. No school-kid is going to feel proud being a European reciting that rubbish. And a good thing too because the European Union is just another step on the road to global enslavement.
Yes, it's not very I appreciate that's not very inspiring. One of the ideas of a constitution though is that could help to give citizens protection from slavery amongst other things. Freedom from economic exploitation. Freedom of information, expression and education. Billions are wage slaves today with no choice but to do what their masters tell them to do.
In that case i'd prefer a British Constitution. We don't have a written constitution at the moment.
Well, we've had the Magna Carta since 1215, though it's not enough. www.bl.uk /collections / treasures /magnatranslation . html
"No one shall be arrested or imprisoned on the appeal of a woman for the death of any person except her husband." Hmm... maybe this needs updating.
Aw, you miss the picture? Never mind. Still no new user name lance_wins_again alias american_empire alias jack_off_farts? So you still have to hide What kind of animal fucked your mommy to produce a worthless piece of talking shit? Do yourself your family and the rest of the world a favour, put a gun in your mouth and slowly squeeze the trigger. Maggot.
