Blair has doggedly backed Bush in all areas of US policy. But might he secretly be hoping for a Kerry victory, to escape the alliance that is so unpopular among his own people?

I think Blair would *love* for Kerry to win, so he could get out of the perpetual corner he's been backed into by having to support Bush's policies.

Well, it's certainly been said many times that he is not happy with many of our policies or jumping through President Bush's hoops so maybe he is hoping Kerry will win.

Blair NEEDS Kerry to win, he needs a way out so he can save his neck at the next General Election in 2005.

If kerry wins, brits will think: well, they changed, so then we are going to change too. But if bush wins they are going to think: the world is doomed, tony is the only one that can talk with the guy, let's give him another chance. So if you think really in a political way, i think blair hopes for bush. The confirmation.

The only foreign nationals I can think of who support Bush would be Osama and Iraqi insurgents ... Bush is the best recruitment spokeman they could ask for.
