They should. There's nothing against that, and religion should not enter the workplace. It's a classic ACLU case. As for "only help(ing) people outside the mainstream," that isn't true. Go to aclu (dot) org and see for yourself.
In a huge fit of irony, the ACLU once helped protect Rush Limbaugh -- I can't remember the specifics, but it had something to do with the drug problem.

The American Communist Liberals Union occaisionally takes on a task that seems outside their normal actions. So they might help. I doubt it though.

One problem is, companies can fire people for whatever reason they deem necessary. I really don't know the specifics -- I think that, in terms of freedom of religion, only the GOVERNMENT can make no laws taking away your freedom of religion (1st Amendment said "Congress shall make no law ..."; Supreme Court decided that the 14th Amendment -- I think it's the 14th -- expanded that so no government can take away those rights) -- it says nothing about companies. On the flip side, there is a such thing as equality in the workplace and a comfortable workplace environment, and blatant discrimination in the workplace is not acceptable. So I'm not sure if it's an ACLU case or not -- it's an interesting point you make.
