Keep in mind that the consequences are dire indeed.
For if the rest of the world unites against your country, then it will mean the destruction of the United States of America.
It would be such a pity for this to happen to such a technologically advanced country.

Yes, I'm comfortable with it as I want us to dominate the world
No, I would prefer a peaceful coexistence with the rest of the world
There won't be peaceful coexistence in our reality
Israel is using America to fight it's wars
It's not
We are in a war now
Terrorists Started It First, We'll Finish It

COMMENTS:
Iraq was supposed to be "a cakewalk" but it has turned into an appalling mess. Instead of making America a safer place it is now more at risk than ever. Some people warned that this would happen and you know the ones who supported the war and carried on whining about WMD that were never there.
And it has not finished yet. Not by a long chalk. And I fear it will end with America being humiliated before the entire world.

If the world united against the USA, we'd end up in another dark age.
by thc2883 on Tue Aug 10, 04 7:49am [+]

How do you know that America is less safe now?
The radical Islamists will always try to terrorize America, unless their demands are fulfilled, but the war on terror shows the host nations that 'they're either against us or with us', meaning that letting terror organizations operate from their soil undisturbed is not acceptable, nor the development of WMD that will eventually lick to the terror groups. Libya already got the message with no need of war, and stopped its most advanced nuclear program, and stopped its support of terror, Syria started acting in the right direction, but needs further clarifications, and Iran has done signs of accepting international inspection on its nuclear program, but they're now using the US election to escape that. Only recently Arafat deployed some of his troops to prevent rocket shooting on Israeli towns near Gaza strip.

And I think that threatning Americans with a third world war, in which they'll be alone, is much more ridicules than terror alerts, and concern over Iran's nuclear advance.

I've got that little gem copied, yosi. When WW3 happens (as it inevitably will) I will post it back up. You probably won't be on this site by then.
by cretin_slap on Tue Aug 10, 04 8:35am [+]

Somehow I'm not concerned.
by Yosi on Tue Aug 10, 04 10:00am [+]

YOure not concerned of ww yosi?
by asdf on Tue Aug 10, 04 10:35am [+]

Despite the fact that people who know what is going on have been saying for ages that there is going to be a war, and the fact that the situation in the middle east is rapidly deteriorating, yosi still thinks that there will be no war. And when the situation worsens still further, yosi will come up with another brainless excuse why the wars against civilisation are a necessary thing. At best, yosi, your reading of the situation is pathetic.
by cretin_slap on Tue Aug 10, 04 11:30am [+]

Oh, no, don't back down now, you promised a third world war, that will directly result from the war on terror.

And I don't think that the situation in the middle east is deteriorating that badly, at least not on the surface. But Iran's attempts to gain nuclear capability will be an ever growing source of deterioration. The question is, whether we cut it now, or deal with it after it's irreversible.
by Yosi on Tue Aug 10, 04 11:56am [+]

But you admit it is deteriorating.

Right now 1/2 of us are and 1/2 of us aren't. We'll see what happens.
by elvislennon on Tue Aug 10, 04 12:39pm [+]

A) there is going to be no third world war, at least not over this

B) the entire world wouldn't unite over anything, ever.

C) no one has the military strength to take us on.
D) the majority of people in the world don't really care about the US either way, certainly not enough to to get killed over it

E) you're full of shit cretin.
by herzog on Tue Aug 10, 04 1:13pm [+]

herzog, I can see that you're in true form today, just like an ostrich with its head buried in the sand. lol
by Alien_Invader on Tue Aug 10, 04 7:53pm [+]

It's deteriorating towards what will be at best (or worst) a regional war, between Shi'ites and Americans, Israelis. The rest of the Arab governments doesn't really like Iran's extreme fundemental islamic government, which inspires same coups in their countries too. And I don't see any other foreign power joins the Shi'ites.
by Yosi on Wed Aug 11, 04 1:31am [+]

Or of course a nuclear holocaust, if we ignore the threats today.

"Why, of course the people don't want war ... But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship...Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger."
--Hermann Goring,
Nazileader, at the Nuremberg Trials after World War II

So yosi says that if Iraq were not attacked and basically fucked up for years to come there would be a nuclear war. yosi = Goebbels.
by cretin_slap on Wed Aug 11, 04 6:32am [+]

Iran, Iran, cretin.
If we don't attack in the near future, we will lose our exclusive role in deciding whether nukes will be used or not, as mine (and your) enemies arm themselves with nuclear weapons.

I guess that you think that waiting untill the country is attacked, with the most deadly weapon available, before starting a war is a better option. I would've written cretin = Chamberlin, but he snapped out of it before Britain was attacked.
by Yosi on Wed Aug 11, 04 8:05am [+]

By Hermann Goring
by cretin_slap on Wed Aug 11, 04 8:43am [+]

And...
The only question is whether your country will or will not be attacked, and I have no idea why do you think that you're able or qualified to determine that.
by Yosi on Wed Aug 11, 04 11:45am [+]

Attacked with WMD from Iraq? Unbuilt nuclear weapons from Iran?

It reminds me of this Kissinger quote.

*Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government.*

Iraq's WMD and Iran's unbuilt nuclear weapons (as well as stupid asserions that Islam as a whole is trying to take over the world) are PROMULGATED threats.
by cretin_slap on Wed Aug 11, 04 12:18pm [+]

Just to mention CS .UK gave nuclear arms meterials to Iran recently and Bush gave the go ahead for further funding of the NK nuclear reactors
by bigmonkeynuts on Thu Aug 12, 04 2:10am [+]

Tell it to the survivors of Halabjah, and Iranian officials who denied of course that their nuclear program is headed for weapons, but still present this and their long range missile projects as 'defensive'.
Iran's involvement and arming of numerous terror groups is proven, and some details are not even denied, the question is, how safe will you be in hypothetical situation of nuclear Iran that gave Hezbollah or any other Palestinian terror groups, components for dirty bomb, for example, which were shot, or used through suicide bombers at Israeli targets.
by Yosi on Thu Aug 12, 04 3:16am [+]

Even if the war in Iraq has caused more worthless people to become terrorists, those people are going to Iraq to fight us. I'd rather fight them in Iraq then in the USA. American civilians probably are safer because of the war.
by thc2883 on Thu Aug 12, 04 8:07am [+]

Ultimately what I am trying to get across with this ballot is that.
Are U.S. American citizens going to be comfortable with the thought that their government, military forces, secret services and police will be compared to the Nazis of World War 2 if a global conflict is started by their government.
by Alien_Invader on Thu Aug 12, 04 8:13am [+]

That's great! Europe will be taking care of America's problems for a change, instead of America cleaning up Europe's mess.
by thc2883 on Thu Aug 12, 04 6:08pm [+]

And just because al qaeda still hates us doesn't mean we're not safer.
by thc2883 on Fri Aug 13, 04 7:13am [+]

The people who would be terrorists are relatively static, we're just bringing them out of hiding so we can kill them now instead of later, and kill them in their lands instead of ours. Americans in the states are safer than they would have been without a war in the middle east.

France and Germany didn't support the war because they were making money off of the old Iraq. They didn't want to give up any market share to the USA which I'm sure Bush offered as a compromise, now they will get nothing. The EU is finding out how the big boys play. The recently "weak" dollar is probably a way to punish Europe. The CPI here has risen less than usual these past couple years, meaning the things we regularly buy don't cost anymore. But at the same time goods from Europe cost more. Guess who's getting screwed.
by thc2883 on Fri Aug 13, 04 5:56pm [+]

I often wonder why we don't make use of propaganda like we used to. I've said it before,
I'd rather let the rest of the world do its own thing. I still believe we are safer now than we were before Iraq. Terrorism may have increased but it's happening over there and not here. The majority of people around the world don't care enough to either hate or love us.
by thc2883 on Sat Aug 14, 04 9:38pm [+]
