i, of course look up to Location & view and as always the price but i am very lucky to have a nice apartment in a good part of san francisco overlooking the golden gate. God Bless!

Interior design: I like open areas and lofts. Last year I passed on a "better" location in order to get the floorplan I wanted.

It depends on reason for the hunting. For an investment, historical and future rises in property value, and demand in the area, and price in relation to that. Word to the wise, it is always best to buy the worst house in a nice neighborhood, rather than the best house in a worse neighborhood.

I think the floor plan and size of rooms is important, and if it's close to railroad tracks or airport or hospital - those can be noisy areas.
