If this site is anything to go by, it seems the majority of homophobes are white males aged between 18 - 40. How times change and yet stay the same.

It all comes down to W.A.S.P.- White, Anglo-Saxon, Straight and Protestant. If you don't fit these parameters (ALL of them, mind you), you're politely asked to get the hell off the planet. Given the impossibility of that, anyone not meeting the standard is shunned, hated and persecuted unto death.

I don't understand why people are aggressive towards homsexuals myself. I would just have nothing to do with them at all.
My friend Richard was desperately homophobic for years until he realised what we'd all known for years - he didn't like gay people. Personally, each to their own.
I've met several openly gay people in my life and I've never felt threatened by them, if anything they've been some of the most intelligent and courteous people I've ever known.
None of them has ever tried to screw me in the ass or take my birthday away.
And I'm not even going to go into the arguement over whether they were born that way or its a life style choice because I don't care which it is.
All this nonsense about re-writing the Constitution to ban gay marriage, GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!

Gays don't try hard enough to distance themselves from the 'all gays are paedophiles' stereotype. Stupid shows like Queer as folk have had episodes involving adult gays in sexual relationships with teenage boys. And recently in Australia a gay arty farty magazine tricked a high school into allowing them to do a gay photoshoot on their premises with gays dressed up as teenagers spanking each other.
Even if homosexuals are more prone to disease that's their problem. Male homosexuality is repellent to me, but so is ballroom dancing, so I avoid ballrooms and 'gay' bars, it's not difficult. I understand 'gay' men are statistically more promiscuous than heterosexuals. I don't approve of sexual promiscuity it's a bit sad, but if they want to 'marry' wtf has it to do with me? I am suspicious of those who get hot and bothered about homosexuals, they protest 'too much'.

And I am not an apologist for the actions of criminals. I just don't brand someone as a criminal unless I know they committed a criminal act.
There are no groups that are 'far' more susceptible to crimes. Statistics show it only to be a small increase. Race, sexual orientation, it doesn't matter.

This ballot has suddenly become interesting. I remember reading about stress and pollution links to homosexuality rates years ago. Only 1% gay, well I figured as much.
I'm not so sure that all people who are anti-homosexual are actually homophobic. Some may legitimately believe that homosexual activity is dangerous, and/or part of a broader perversion that makes them dangerous in the same way as someone with a criminal mind or a typhoid mary. Even homophobia in some cases may be related to a primal instinct of this nature. The villification of 'homophobia' itself is devisive.
The hysteria regarding homosexuality and bisexuality is intense. Something about the honest and open discussion of sexuality FREAKS many people out. When people who are otherwise complete pigs start quoting the bible you gotta stop and wonder. Sex seems to lie deep in the very heart and soul of people. You hit a really raw nerve.
Regarding some "groups" being more suseptible to crime, statistics show this is absolutely true. An example: African American men make up 90% (!) of the perpetrators of homicide in Boston. And African Americans are some of the most pathologically homophobic groups in America. Weird considering the epidemic of black on white male rape in America's Prisons.
you cant tell what percentage is gay because there will always be people who hide in the closet and dont admit it. I have no problem with gays, but I dislike people who hate gays (did not say Homphobe because a phobia is a fear and the people who hate gays aren't afraid, they just hate them).
