COMMENTS:
Depends upon degree, I'd say. Societies need some kinds of rules and "social lubricants" in order to function, I would assert, and some degree of empathy for others helps this happen.
I'd say that the new witches are "WHITEY", cha'mone.
The rules our sociecty need to follow our the two major documents that founded this nation. One the United States Constitution. Second the Bible. These are the rules Americans should live by. Political correctness is for the weak but moral correctness makes one strong.
You can have strong morals without the Bible. Although my life may seem to be abiding by the laws of the Bible, the bible is not my governor and refuse to let a book of fiction be my set of laws.
Call it fiction if you will but it speaks more truth than any other book ever.
It speaks truth? LOL. two words buddy NOAHS ARK
1Foot: You confuse government with society. To assert that the only rules needed by society are those two documents is, IMO, naive and shortsighted.
I was pointing out that those are the foundation of the American culture. Other documents sure, you need all those books you read while becoming educated and hopefully some outside of the educational field either for more information or for pleasure. But those documents certainly are what the american culture is based upon. There is no doubt about that.
The Golden rule is a pretty good rule and if everyone "tried" to follow it our society would be better than it is now. The Ten Commandments are also good rules to live by in a civilized country. The overwhelming majority of lessons taught in the Bible are good for society.
I can agree with the above statements. However, the Bible shoudlnt dictate what is law.
But historically Duckhead it has dicatated many of our laws.
If political correctness is the new official state religion... I'm staying Atheist.
Unfortunately I don't think that's going to be an option.
Political Correctness is the ruling elite's Orwellian thought control tyranny. Period. The P.C. thought police, in my opinion, is even worse than the Inquisition.
