Were the results of the 2000 election the actual beginning of a coup d'etat?

Did the attacks of 9/11 allow those in the corridors of power to galvanize their hold on the US Constitution by instituting the Patriot Act(s) and declaring the endless War on Terror?

Has America gradually adjusted to a new fascist way of life, like the proverbial frog in the boiling water, without realizing it?

Compare the Fascism of Nazi Germany and Mussolini's Italy to the present political realities of the USA:

1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism.
2. Disdain for the importance of human rights.
3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause.
4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism.
5. Rampant sexism and homophobia.
6. A controlled mass media.
7. Obsession with national security.
8. Religion and ruling elite tied together.
9. Power of corporations protected.
10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated.
11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts.
12. Obsession with crime and punishment, ever-increasing police power.
13. Rampant cronyism and corruption.
14. Fraudulent elections.

So i guess our Nazi govenment should stop giving money to all the world. Stop helping weaker countries. Let North Korea invade South Korea. Put a ban on immigration and stop out tolerance towards Europeans who don't understand American politics other than what they see on T.V.
