Yes, the ones that count generally have a brain and a healthy regard for themselves, so they don't have to resort to snide remarks against women. The ones who do disrespect us aren't worth the time of day, and they usually back off quickly if they get the LQQK. :)

Women don't deserve any respect. They've been freeloading off the accompishments of men from the beginning of time.
They're parasites that sponge off of men for everything they need in life.
They are the ONLY female species on the planet that relies on the male of species for survival.
Grapost: You must be a classic example of choice # 2. Shame, because sometimes you can sound quite intelligent.
Besides...If it weren't for women, you wouldn't be breathing today.

Really, I have not depended on men to survive, I work , go to college and pay my own bills without any man around. So I guess my questions is, where is your logic coming from? I get respect and deserve it just as any women in her own right deserves. It is men like you who are prime Example of the Gene Pools failings... Don't worry ladies, there is a bunch of good men out there who know how to treat a women right!
Grapost. I think you said that just to create a stir. Either that, or you are in a bad mood today. From what I have seen, you have nice qualities and you can't really mean what you said about women.

Women deserve as much respect as satan ...they can only get the respect they give ..dont expect some one whos been treated like scum by them to respect them.
Bitter....party of one..
Men who treat women badly are worshipped by women ,they are considered the alpha male players ..so dont make the mistake of respecting them
FYI, most of the women here are independent and accomplished in our own right. We're not all conniving parasites, and most of us these days have our own money.
But even if we didn't we'd probably be raising children and working our buns off helping our partners. It's about teamwork.
It's not a question of man vs. woman or woman vs. man, so it's a shame that there's some bitterness reflected here.
We've all had bad experiences in our lives, but that's no reason to hold a grudge against the whole opposite gender.

Everything women need or use to live independently and survive was invented and built by men.
All the technical and medical discoveries that keep them alive were made by men.
There only real purpose is to reproduce, mother a child, and provide companionship for men.
Ladyshanalyn. All the info you got in college was discovered and acquired by men. The survive on goods that are produced and made safe by the inventions and discoveries made by men. The products you use to live your everyday life were discovered and built by men. All the science and technology that went into making them was discovered and developed by men.
Women BENEFIT from the efforts of those men. Women are just the end user of the product.
Now what do WOMEN provide you with to live your life? Nothing tangible!
You can't survive on decorating skills!
Like I said Grapost...you can't survive without women. Period.
And where were women when men were stuck in labs, creating timeless masterpieces, philosophizing up a storm?
They were stuck at home wiping snotty little noses like yours... and every man alive's. Face facts :)
Times have changed and women are more than a force to be reckoned with in their own right.

I agree with a lot of things you say in other ballots, so I just can't believe you could be so insensitive in this respect. I am just stating the facts as the are.
People are so used to hearimg the banal compliments that are made to prevent hurting womens feelings.
What I'm say is the unvarnished truth.

Grapost: It can be dangerous to generalize from subjective experience.
Men have not come up with every technological innovation or scientific discovery, despite women being shut out of avenues of education and access for much of civilized Western history.
* Madma Curie discovered Radium and was the first scientist to start harnessing its application.
* Sybilla Masters gained an English patent in 1715 for a mill to grind corn.
* Josephine Cochran of Illinois invented the dishwashing machine in 1886.
* In 1912 Henrietta Leavitt published an astronomy paper that laid the groundwork for the concept of parallax: She said the brightest Cepheids were blinking slow while the dimmer ones were fast; and this was a regular, graduated phenomenon. Now the Cepheid's nearness can be calculated because, knowing its absolute magnitude or real brightness from its blink rate, we'll know that extra dimness is due to distance.
The list is way too extensive to reproduce in a Comment, but I suggest that just because you are not aware of womens' contributions doesn't mean they don't exist.
And I am not even going into the myriad women who serve as doctors, lawyers, technicians, artists, musicians, writers, etc. ... all contributing in very real ways.
And those women who don't work outside the home?
How much would their men contribute if not for their familial contributions?
And finally ... everyone deserves respect, Grapost. Whether they have directly contributed to us or not.
Chivalry was supposed to be an offshoot of Courtesy and breeding ... not an onus or a means of positioning males higher.
That's one of the inequities of genders in society.
Women are GIVEN respect just because of their gender.
Men are required to EARN respect by accompishing something.
I resent having to give respect to a gender that has accomplished so little.
If women are so capable, why does our government classify them as a minority. They make up 51 percent of the population.
They are considered a minority because their gender is considered a HANDICAP!
Because they've proven from the beginning of time that they don't have the skills to provide and protect themselves.
Just animals at the zoo. They have to be tended to and fed.
Accomplished so little? Are you so certain you know their full history ... what they have achieved and under what circumstances?
We have had historically patriarchal societies ... whenever strong women surfaced, they usually risked death or subjugation. And yet, still they persevered.
Why does our government classify them as a protected class (not as handicapped)? Because our society is still very patriarchal and they face *substantially* greater hurdles than men.
I was in a department, early in my career, managed by an ulotra-capable black woman -- yet her position was perpetually put at Grade 13 (just below Real management) and her salary was modest. She finally quit in disgust. She was succeeded by a white woman ... also ultra capable. She got a bit more money, but was limited to grade 13. When did the company change the grade of that position? When *I* got it ... a maale who learned most of what he knew from those two women.
You try running footraces with no shoes and your legs tied together ... see ho much visibility you get. Personally, I am amazed they have accomplished a smuch as they have, under teh circumstances.
They don't have the skills to provide and protect themselves?!? BWAH HA HA HA! Where do you get that?
Hey, maybe you have had some bad experiences ... a bitter break-up or a bitchy boss ... but you do yourself and women in general a disservice with such gross generalizations.
The inequitie sin our society are due to patriarchal attitudes of men ... not from any deficiencies in women.
There is a BIG difference.
As far as men *earning* respect, I must respectfully respond B***$***. Few men get respect because of a damned thing they have done. It is just Good ol' Boy interactions and tradition.
On a personal level, I know of few men who deserve any additional respect for anything they've "done."

* The man who views the number of women he has slept with as a Competitive Sport.
* The man who takes out his frustrations in life by coming home and pummeling his spouse/GF.

There *are* a lot of bad/lousy people out there, ic ... of both genders. But don't write of all because of the worst of the lot.
ic: It's unfortunate that you're so embittered by your experiences of women, but contrary to your expectations, a great many of us prefer good, honest, intelligent men who are secure enough to recognize that we have an equal role in this life, and who respect us for the individuals we are. Very few women prefer 'players.' We prefer real men with real hearts and a conscience to go with the heart. At the end of the day money - and all the accoutrements - mean very little. Get to know some real women and you might be surprised. We don't all fit your stereotype.

You're making an untrue assumption that I'm demanding across-the-board respect for the entire gender, but please give us our due respect as individuals and equals.
No, that's not what you said in the ballot title & your earlier comment (25th August). The implication is that women inherently deserve respect.
The ballot title was addressed to females who are worthy of respect, but not all females are worthy of it. I mean, hello, there are some vicious women in the world but they (I think) are in the relative minority.
My comment on August 25 was in response to Grapost, who made it abundantly clear in his remarks that he is incapable of respect toward women based on their gender alone, regardless of their qualities and/ or accomplishments. If there was a Misogynist Party, Grapost would be chairman.
