Or just buy a carton, and save themselves a huge amount of money, not to mention gas and wear and tear on the car. But then again, why don't drug users just go to Columbia, and pick up a huge quantity of cocaine, rather than buying the contaiminated and diluted rocks from street vendors?

It's a way to cut back or down. I use to smoke 5 packs a day..maybe 6. untill i when to a group for help. they said,"only buy one pack at a time..that way you'll smoke less. insteading of going back to the store". I go every 2 days now. WHAT A DIFFERANCE!
because 7/11 is very expensive. Also it is fun going out hunting for what you finished..whether it is cigarettes or bread or soda. Just a man going out on his own hunting is fun. I don`t smoke or drink or take drugs but still like going off to some store and having a look around, it is stimulating and I feel it has something to do with our hunting instincts which have been fucked and twisted in the modern society
Someone's just a little too observant.
i used to smoke but i never smoked more than like one pack per three or four days...if i kept packs in my car they'd get lost, crushed or stale before i used up the first pack...and a carton! damn! you might be one of those guys who buys a bale of toilet paper and shampoo by the 55 gal. drum but i've never bought stuff by the ton.
Whats 7/11? Is that when Bush found out about 9/11? But yeah, 'tis strange.
guest084 is right. It's a kind of ritual. And then after you buy it, you go into a bar or restaurant and slap the cigs on the table to mark out your territory. Or your cell phone. It's like pissing on a tree if you're an animal marking its territory.
Same reason crack-heads by crack a rock at a time.
Because most smokers are always 'quitting' or so they say. Every pack they buy is their last pack but they never buying them.
...never STOP buying them is what I meant.
