[+] ballot by RobinGaylord created Sat Sep 04, 04 If the government is trying to convince us that drugs are bad and that if we do them it will destroy our lives, then why is using drugs illegal. I know that if I drank to the point were I would become an alcoholic that I may lose my job and all my friends, I value them and I wouldn’t risk it for the momentary joy of getting drunk. I am old enough to assess the risk and make that decision and the government acknowledges that, so why can’t they categorically say the same thing about crack or heroin. If they are so much worse for me then I’ll stay away from them. I think the government is underestimating the will power of its citizens. If they legalized all drugs tomorrow and we all became addicts then we would have no one to blame but ourselves. But I know that wouldn’t happen because drugs have been legal since the beginning of time and they only outlawed it about 60 years ago. What do you think?
