COMMENTS:
Don't know if Miss Manners formally addresses it, but personally, I have come to drop a short acknowledgement in their Pvt box. Mostly as a courtesy, but it also affirms that the K did really go through and didn't fall into some temporary glitch.
Funny you should say that, is it impolite not to thank?, I am not sure myself.

Thank you...I was not sure, in that case I owe some.
I tend to thank them because it was nice that they took the time to give out karma.
Funny you should ask this......I was gonna post this question too!! I try and drop a line and thank those who give it out. It's nice and a good way to meet fellow B&W'rs
Dunno, I never get any! :o(
You get loads of Karma IC, ok so its negative, but ya get it :p
I like to thank people who do nice things for me, so I say YES!
Haha, that sounds about right, Hamster.:oP
It is appropriate to thank people for giving you favorable karma ratings, but it is not inappropriate if you don't. It's *sort of like giving a small gift to someone - you don't give it with the intention of receiving a thank-you note.
I try to say thanks, but sometimes I forget, Im old, so forgive me :p
it's the nice thing to do but i know i forget to sometimes. i always feel bad that i don't give out enough karma to those who give me karma BUT that's not the way it's supposed to work anyway. i often don't notice whose ballot it is til i decide to rate it.
uh oh... I never do lol...
