hehe, well, it's not very in-depth, ABC. Once you get into all that with the fancy terminology and such, I'm gone!
I know, but Edwards still did better.
Edwards did better than Bush but he was spanked by Cheney.
What does Cheney bring to the table that would qualify him to be President? If we are using Bush as a measuring tool to pose the question, then, lets compare Mr. Mcgoo with Bush and pose the same question. Cheney lied on several issues during the debate and Edwards uncovered the fact that Cheney voted against the MLK Jr holiday, voted against the release of Nelson Mandela, voted against headstart, voted against banning plastic guns, and he voted against the department of education, no, I don't think he is worthy of being President of a country that pledges liberty and justice for ALL Americans...
Ok, but has anyone ever seen Bush making an effort to voice his disagreements with Cheney's votes? As far as I see it, they're on the same level.
I agree, Politically and Socially they will always be on the same level, maybe not when it comes to the issues of gay rights. However, they are two of a kind...They are a couple of disconnects when it comes to social issues and I think both are disgracefully appalling in that respect...
You mean Dickless Five Deferments Cheney? Lets see 1. He acquired Dresser Industries for Halliliburton. Unfortunately, he didnt do any research and he wound up acquiring Dressers asbestos liability as well. This led to a financial fiasco, which was fixed by fraudulent accounting procedures. 2. Cheneys fix was not revealed until AFTER he sold his stock. The stock then lost 75% of its value. 3. Five Deferments 4. When he was Secretary he awarded large defense contracts to Halliburton. He later became CEO of this company and has Vice President continued to grant Halliburton lucrative contracts. 5. Halliburton over billed the government (Message to republicansthat means tax payers) 6. He is currently under investigation by French authorities for bribery, money laundering and misuse of corporate assets while at Halliburton. 7. Did I mention he got 5 deferments? 8. His voting record: He voted against EVERY civil rights and environmental bill that passed his desk. DICK CENEY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN ELECTED PRESIDENT, SO HE RUNS THE COUNTRY UNDER THE TITLE OF VICE PRESIDENT.
Because, he's corrupt, and knows Bush has a better chance. Besides, why choose Cheney and not Kerry?
Nah, I mean why wasn't Cheney in Bush's place for the past 4 years? But now I feel like a naive little child after elvislennon's comment. Adieu!
Sorry Cherri, I was yelling at Cheney, not you.
:) hehe, phew!
Cherri makes a good point. While one may disagree with his politics, no one can say that Cheney is ignorant, spoiled, and simplistic -- as they can say about Bush. I strongly disagree with Cheney, but having him as President at least wouldn't *embarrass* me as having Bush currently does. Cheney, like him or not, is an adult. Bush is a fixated party boy who got his position through privilege.
She's not advocating Cheney as president; she is comparing and contrasting Cheney with Bush -- think of it as a question of, between those two, who should have gotten the top spot as the GOP candidate in 2000.
I don't dislike Cheney. However, what he has voted against in the past demonstrates that he may harbor some biases/prejudices against a group of people. Whether you compare and contrast him to Bush or not, I think he isn't worthy of being elected dog catcher due to his perceived biases and/or prejudices...Neither should have gotten the top spot as the GOP Candidate in 2000. Although, I do understand your point...
He did better than George W. Bush, I have to admit that but with his racist, sexist policies I don't see how he'd be any better of a president than Bush.
No, Cheney should not be in Bush's place, Gore should, he won the popular vote!!
Cathexis: Realistically Cheney wouldn't have been electable.
