That's hilarious! What will those wacky Republicans do next?

Uh-oh. Perhaps I've said too much.

Well, they had a point. That slogan *would* be offensive at a Bush rally.

After all, they've spent every day since 9/11 trying to do the exact opposite.

Protecting liberties is offensive ... maybe they'll use that as the new '04 campaign bumper sticker.
by Cathexis on Fri Oct 15, 04 10:40am [+]

maybe if you told the whole story, it was a ticket only affair, and the teachers did not have tickets, make sure you get your fact straight qui
by xxxxxxxx on Fri Oct 15, 04 10:47am [+]

they claimed they appled for the tickets and were given but did not have the tickets when they arrived at the fairgrounds

I'm for Kerry, but hate when people distort the facts on either side.

If this were an osiloated incident, I could see the possibility of miscommunications, etc.

But this isn't the only incident. There have been several instances of peopel being evicted from such events ... fo rthe crime of wearing a t-shirt with some slogan.

Here are the two I have & the sources..
Three Medford school teachers were threatened with arrest and escorted from the event after they showed up wearing T-shirts with the slogan “Protect our civil liberties.” All three said they applied for and received valid tickets from Republican headquarters in Medford.

The women said they did not intend to protest.

“I wanted to see if I would be able to make a statement that I feel is important, but not offensive, in a rally for my president,” said Janet Voorhies, 48.
