In 1987 under reagan. the fairness doctrine was eliminated. radio and tv stations were no longer required to air opposing view points which partially cused the rise of right wing radio stations! clear channel went from being a small station to owning thousands! in 1998 tom hicks the vice chairman of clear channel bought the texas rangers baseball team in a deal that made president bush a multi millionaire!! the band the dixie chicks were banned from playing a song on the radio because the lead singer critisized the president on the run up to the war!
