Preserving the union, protecting the environment, destroying communism, improving relations with China, ending the Vietnam War (despite having prolonged in for a while), freeing the Carribean islands from Spanish control, reconstructing the US after Civil War, leading the US into its most prosperous time... wow, the Republicans have done nothing good for us.

Exactly, Meredith. Republicans were liberal during the late 1800's, so that gives Abraham Lincoln an edge.
