I will try not to do what many on the right tend to do, when they find a news story that fits their view of the world and gloat. Having read the missive above, I am genuinely touched by the words of Mr Worden. Too often blind faith in our politicians of whichever hue, masks any true debate one can have about the state of the world. The freedom of expression has to be protected, and so do our civil liberties, I often hear that tired mantra from the right, 'If you have nothing to fear, why are you worried' as if that justifies such actions as the Patriot Act. I very much doubt if your point will penetrate the misinformed and the dyed in the wool conservatives, but it had to be brought to their attention.
I did a ballot about those teachers & some chick {Lisa34,now BANNED}claimed these teachers didnt get in to the convention, while my LOCAL MORNING NEWS said they DID get in assed the SS & was told by a volunteer to leave because the t shirts they wore were " offensive "..During that very visit {which just happens to be in the city I now live in} The Prez stayed in a small historical town called Jacksonville.Go to my userpage & read how the locals were treated when he came to visit....
I'm with you all the way, mojo. As scary as what you said recounted is, what's SCARIER is the masses who are willing NOT to see Bush and his cronies for what they are and STILL vote for him.
Just read your about your experience Qui, and I would like to say I am shocked, but sadly, this is becoming more and more common place. For many, freedom of speech is only tolerable if its 'on message', and if you disagree, then you are branded anything from a 'trouble-maker' to a 'filthy commie'. Oppression does not need to happen overnight, it happens incrementally, anyone who think the Patriot Act is abhorent, waut and see what Patriot II will bring. In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act. War is Peace Freedom is Slavery Ignorance is Strength
Thank you Qui_Qui, for sharing this important story. Everyone who visits this ballot needs to read it. If this kind of thing can happen now, what will our country be like in four years under George W. Bush? The thought makes me shudder.

and this situation is the proverbial "Needle in the hay stack" of the contrived corralling of our civil liberties thrust upon us by the Bush regime!

"Liberals lie"? Mr. Worden is a lifelong conservative, so I guess he doesn't qualify as a liar.
