As for the question. You have to understand the nature of some Americans. All three cases probably happened because of agression from the crowd. You have to put an agressive front against an agressive offender or the offender will win. The reprots that the news give you are a lot worse than what really happened. I'm sure to police did their best in the three cases.

I think Liberal_Democrat is right on this one. The point of non-lethal weapons is to restore order. With the exception of Kent State 1970, the police never charge the crowd until some numskull decides to act belligerently.

They were cracking people over the head with nightsticks, pushing kids out of the way left and right. One poor guy on a bike (who was obviously not one of the party) was surrounded and thrown to the ground.

Another example of a sports-related riot is the Dallas Cowboys' 1992 season Superbowl parade. Things were going peacefully until a bunch of degenerates showed up to crash the party. All havoc was wreaked, and there were not enough cops to handle the situation. The presence of the "pigs" did NOT start the violence. Next year's Cowboys' Superbowl parade went off without a hitch because the City of Dallas increased the number of police officers in the area. No violence took place, and nobody got hurt, despite the presence of the "pigs".
I have an ominous feeling that the last three weeks will be nothing compared to the next few weeks.
