COMMENTS:
Hey, ask celui lol.
*drum roll* Tada! Here's against the status quo!
I used to be a republican until about 2 or 3 years ago (until I was about 25 or 26). It was at this time that I started questioning my beliefs and decided that deep inside I was really more liberal than I thought.
It is fairly rare. Liberalism is a phase that kids tend to grow out of, once they get jobs and start paying taxes.
Interestingly enough a poll done by the weekly reader found that kids (1st-12th grade) who read their magazine prefer bush to kerry 60-40. Whereas kids who watched nickelodeon prefered kerry. What does this tell us? Uninformed idiots overwhelmingly support kerry.
of course. Like someone famous once said(cant remember name), "Everyone's a liberal until they get their first paycheck."
In my school, there are about 250 kids, and here in Seattle, one of the most Liberal cities in the country, and a good 30 of them like Bush. It might actually be more common for kids to at first be Republican and later become Democrat. I wouldn't say it's too rare. Then again, 4 kids in my class that supported Bush in '00 now support Kerry.
Nope! I descovered I have very conservative opinions since I was 16 or 17.
I think that you have to speak out a lot more if you're a liberal. A conservative is like an old clock, they never change, their opinions never change so they need no reason to speak out.
"Everyone's a liberal until they get their first paycheck." Is that why John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, etc... are all liberals? Because they work for free?
Most kids aged 5-12 are probably going to be influenced by (or even just repeat) their parents opinions. You really cannot call THEM "Uninformed idiots" So there goes a large portion of that poll. And why do kids who watch Nickelodeon necessarily have to be stupid? I grew up on that station and it gives out pretty good political information that most kids can understand. Would you rather them watch FOX? Then , I think, we all know where the poll results would sway!
There is actually a rather common saying that goes something like this: If you are a teen and aren't a liberal you have no heart, if you are older and aren't a conservative you have no brain. Those aren't the exact words, but you get the idea. I don't think either are true, but it does hold the point that younger people tend to be more liberal. Why do think that the "choose or lose" campaign is trying to get people 18-30 to vote. Not only are they the people the usually don't vote, they want Bush out of office. But, it also differs in different areas. Environments affect people's opinions, but especially people who are impressionable.
Nuckinfutz thinks I’m his friend and he doesn’t even rate my ballots. I’m sick of his stupid comments I think he believes he’s smarter than me. He pretentiously rambles about political events that he has no clue about and I just sit there cause he’s rated better than me and agree with him knowing full well that I look like an idiot being such a dumb yes man. Well he can take his pointless little perspectives and shove ‘em.
