Until the Brits helped us in Iraq I would have joined myself if asked, and that's my "heritage" - as if that means anything these days. Nationality is'nt a ground for exclusion to the best of my knowledge. If there was a protestant unit in the IRA I don't see why a polish/hungarian could'nt join. I don't for a second think that YOU personally could, with all the internaet polling and what have you but in general, polish/hungarians are alright.

I'll bet serious money that most of the pro-IRA posters here don't have a clue what they're talking about. I'll bet that they think that Britain maintains an army of occupation in Ireland against the wishes of the majority. Here's a little education for you:
The Republic of Ireland is a free state with no British troops in it and zero political control from Britain.
Northern Ireland (a separate country) is under British control. Why? Because it voted to stay that way, because the protestant majority want to be a part of the UK rather than part of the catholic dominated Republic.
So the IRA want Northern Ireland to be returned to the Republic AGAINST THE WISHES OF MOST OF ITS INHABITANTS.
Ah yes, the USA, champion of freedom and self determination.
Mind, I'm mocking, but most Americans wouldn't even know that. They have this idea in their head that Britain is in Ireland against the wishes of its people, cruelly repressing them. One IRA supporter I talked to didn't even realise there were two separate countries, i.e. The Republic Of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

I uesd to date Irish guy from Dublin.he hated English.I never understood why though.he said something about 800 year long opression or something.My attitude was "hey dude,get over it".People still hate British and Japanese because of what their empire did some 200 years ago.Cmmon now.Didn't they pay price for that??I'm talking about the number of immigrants they have accepted from ex colonies and shit.They say Muslims will be majolity in nexy 80 years in england due to their high birth rate.They are being ruined by their immigrants.That's enough punishment I would think.
