America and England have not yet had a black leader. I am white and I hate people who have a problem with someones race. Do you agree with me and think it is about time we got over this historic race issue? Skin colour: GET OVER IT! We are all, the same!!

Get over the race issue
Stop talking like a liberal twat.
differences are beautiful, true diversity!

No! How else are we going to know which people are superior or inferior!

The inferior ones sponge off the accomplishments of the superior ones.

Well, I have nothing but the most sincere appreciation for the sentiment (not you, Merlin), but you know as well as I do that it's not that simple. Official segregation only ended 50 years ago (I'm referring to the states), and we have slavery and state-sponsored racism for more than two centuries before that, just in this country.

Unfortunately, there's no way that I can make clear enough the gravity of our history in that area. It's not something people just "get over" in a generation or five.

The real reason why we'll probably never "get over this skin color isue" is that so many people make a very good living off of it. So THEY'RE not going to let us get over it.

Louis, I appreciate the thought. But there are still too many people in the world who don't just see color as merely a physical desciption. Too many see it as a guage of character. Then there are others who have been on the receiving end of that for so long that they are socialized to distrust others who aren't like them. Sadly it seems to be a vicious cycle .... a cycle that could be easily broken if people would just decide to leave their preconceived ideas at home for a few days. It's not likely but it would be an eye opening experience for many.

I sure wish we could get over it! But then we'd think of something else to hate about.

This issue should never been given an oppportunity to become an issue...It is long overdue to put this issue to rest where it belongs, especially in America, "with Liberty and Justice for ALL," Oh sure and Mary had a little lamb...Excellent question...

If we are to get over this ridiculous racism, everyone has to do it. Including the minorities.
