I was a sore WINNER in 2000. I hope that won't happen again this year.

If the same thing happens this year in Florida as it did in 2000 then I'll join Mojo and the 'Sore Loser Party'.
I know my candidate doesn't have a chance in hell of winning, but if Michael Badnarik can get at least 5%, the Libertarian party will get more media coverage in 2008 than they did this year which was virtually none, except for the BBC covering his and David Cobb's arrest at the debates.
And if bush wins the popular vote, but loses the electoral vote you wouldn't mind hearing 4 years of 'kerry stole the whitehouse' and 'commander in thief' and the like?
BTW mojo, gore did lose in the 2000 election, fair and square.
I already know Badnarik won't win.
I might, if I didn't feel Bush was such a *bad* option. If the Republicans had fielded a different candidate, yes. As it is ... I can't, in good conscience, congratulate someone for supporting someone who, in my heart, I believe to be so bad for the country.
Now, if he completely turns around, ditches his cronies and gets a moderate cabinet and starts acting in the true best interests of the country ... *then* I will heartily congratulate his supporters on seeing what I missed. Although I think this is unlikely.
Yeah, Badnarik won't win, but more media coverage would be nice. Not to mention, the more popular the Libertarian vote is, the more the party's ideas will be recognized and snagged by the major parties.
I have a very bad feeling that people are not going to be kind to each other on here tomorrow. Makes Tads very sad.. :(
Then all we can do is to remember that, for good or bad, we're all Americans, and that we all have a stake in acting in the best interests of this country and its citizens.
yes, if Bush loses, I will come in here and congratulate the supporters of the winner. I might not be happy if he loses, but like truthseeker said we are all americans and all wants what we feel is best for the country.
Looks like I won't have to . . .
Great news. I'm trying to be optimistic here. No more Bush in the whitehouse in 2008! Wait, there's still Jeb and Neil. Oh s#!t.
Upon further consideration, I *will* congratulate supporters of the winners. Congratulations on the victory. And I hope that these officials you support -- The Bush Administration and the increasingly Republican Congress -- prove worthy of your support in the coming term. And I hope all of *you* will keep them honest and hold them to the high standards that your support should merit.
