I feel like a dog who just got blamed for another dog shitting on the carpet. Our whole country needs a good smack in the nose with a rolled up newspaper.

When certain buttons are successfully pressed, people stop thinking:

* Fear
* Religion
* Patriotism
* Bigotry/Hatred
* Division (us vs them)

Sadly, when political groups successfully find these buttons, they get good results.

Kerry and Bush are both wankers. Whats the difference who you voted for? No'one should have voted for either.
by xxxxxxxx on Thu Nov 04, 04 9:55am [+]

Hey I voted for Kerry (to the surprise of nobody) and also campaigned for him -- I don't know why people would ever vote that fuck back into office.

I live in Germany so um, well uhhh, what can I say? 59 million people eh? That's not even 1/4 of Americans.
by Dingleberry on Thu Nov 04, 04 1:29pm [+]

i agree that i am not too fond of either Bush or Kerry but i still voted for Kerry, he would have been better than Bush and it would also be nice to have seen a new face in the white house rather than staring at Bushs ugly mutt.
by Ms_Doubtfire on Thu Nov 04, 04 3:14pm [+]

I voted for Kerry. Now that America has Bush as the president, the country will be controlled by apes.
by Asanborn on Thu Nov 04, 04 5:34pm [+]

hey, Bush is going to be working very hard to keep his job up. I bet that he can't do that. I hope that he retires after a few months.
by Asanborn on Thu Nov 04, 04 5:37pm [+]

Aren't you too young to vote, dearie?
by Les6Hithe6Wins6Again on Fri Nov 05, 04 8:46am [+]

"Jenny17": Kerry was "out of touch with the common man"??

As opposed to Bush, who addressed the guests at a $10,000-a-plate fundraising dinner by saying: "I like this crowd; the haves and the have-mores. Some people call them the elite. I call them my base."

I would laugh at your comment if it didn't make me so sad.
by mojo on Fri Nov 05, 04 9:40am [+]

I supported Kerry this election. I can't believe that 51% of those who voted liked Bush. That's just like liking a dog that eats all your food and tears down your neighbors' houses. "french wife who keeps her own last name" How is that bad? Isn't that a bit racist, and shouldn't the woman have the right to accept the man's last name or not? Bush was able to connect with the idiotic 55 million that voted for him, and that does NOT prove him intelligent at all.

btw, I'll be sure to bring a lot of beer. I'll bring some kilts as well ;)

Doc, I would have LOVED to. But show me a better choice on the ballot that had so much as a bag of Snickers' chance at a Halloween party, and I'll hop in the old time machine (if Cletus is done trying to invert the spacetime continuum with it), and I'll change my vote...
by Truthseeker013 on Sat Nov 06, 04 11:42am [+]

jenny, I have the sinking feeling that you won't be as enthusiastic about Mister Bush in about twenty years, when you're paying off the finance charges on the mortgage he put on America's future.

I'll give you one example of the lack of foresight the man had. One of his first acts upon coming to the White House back in 2000 was to initiate the Great Tax Rebate- $300 for every taxpayer in the country (a nice idea that I've since referred to as "the ice-cream factor"- look through my past posts for the explanation). A rough analogy for that is THIS. I go to work on a Friday, get my paycheck for, oh, say a thousand dollars. I go to my bank and cash it. Then, upon leaving the bank, I realize that I've got a bit of mad money this week, so I stop outside and start handing out tenspots to anyone who comes by, until my mad money's all spent. THEN I go home and find out that I've got an unexpected financial obligation to take care of (in Mister Bush's case, it's a small war in the Middle East). If I didn't get my point across, feel free to drop me a line for further clarification...
by Truthseeker013 on Sat Nov 06, 04 11:52am [+]

Your analogy doesn't make much of a point when you realize that the money Bush gives back to taxpayers is money that Kerry would have spent on stupid programs such as government sponsored health care. I'd rather spend my 300 bucks on something I want than have my tax money spent on a joke that doesn't work.

"french wife who keeps her own last name" -- Jenny17

1 -- Teresa Heinz Kerry isn't French. She's from Mozambique.
2 -- Heinz wasn't her original last name -- she has the last names of both her husbands.
3 -- So what about his wife?
