Right on target.
The spirit of the Antichrist is seducing a great number of people who otherwise believe in what's 'good' and what's 'right.' And the evil-angelist hypocrites like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson who support this diabolical Crusade are well aware of it, too. They ushered it in.
Jesus was just some dude.
What is Jesus?
Oh....Jesus. Just some dude, according to Cletus.
Yes. Too many who act "in his name" seem to have no concept of the message he preached.
Whats ironic, many of Jesus' teaching, have more in common with socialism than conservatism lol.
True enough, steelhamster, except for one thing: we don't actually know what Jesus taught. How would we? Our only source for what Jesus MIGHT have said is the New Testament - and Jesus never wrote a single word of that book. It was written from 40 to 100 years after his death by men who had never once met him. Now there are serious doubts as to the accuracy of the whole Bible, and even to the existence of Jesus himself, but those are properly topics for another ballot. The main point is that there's hardly a single reputable theologian or Church historian who thinks that every Biblical saying attributed to Jesus is authentic, and some of them believe that none of those sayings are. Christians today have a tendency to express their own opinions, which they then attribute to Jesus. Is it so implausible that the New Testament authors did the same?
True, but come on, Jesus was liberal.

I was assuming that people would know that the bible was written between 100 and 300 years after the events by others. The sentiment written was what I was getting at.
I believe Vonnegut mentioned a church of Jesus Christ the Kidnapped - though it wasn't quite what is going on now.
yeah because back when jesus was alive he probably would have been considered a left wing loonie.

Christ was crucified because of his refusal to conform to or condone activity of the religious right of his day. The religious right in the U.S. today seems to advocate the exact opposite of His principles though embracing the use of His name. Strange, that!
Yea, prove it.
I think it's other way around. religion is forcing its way into right wing politics, to a point where they are willing to chuck the constitution in the bin, so that they can have a religious state.
