[+] ballot by Dot
created Tue Nov 09, 04

Say you were a pregnant girl who didn't want the baby, and only gay couples wanted to adopt.
Would you abort the baby, ending a life, or let a gay couple adopt and raise it in their "immoral" lifestyle?

Abort the child
Let a gay couple adopt the child

There is no reason why a gay couple shouldn't be able to adopt a child. Heterosexual couples have done far worse in the child abuse and perversion aspects.

Shouldn't people be referencing the multitudes of books written by adults, who were children, raised by gay parents? Or, just interject with their own dim-witted naive personal beliefs. The "Moral Majority" IE "Christian Fundamentalist" thrive on persecution, judgment and oppression, it's the oxygen of their faith... why should this topic be in different? Far be it, that they would ever embrace the idea of placing children into any available loving home, unless it meets their own personal beliefs or criteria. Christians obsess, relish and chastise illegitimate children... as BASTARDS, the Bibles words, not mine! These same individuals will fight a woman's right to choose then stone a child to death to keep it out of the hands of someone the personally find immoral... How immoral! They would also, most certainly, abort their own fetus if testing was available to detect a child's sexuality and it came out... OH MY GOD, positive for homosexuality. I have lost all faith in Christianity and believe it to be the filthy ass hole of the religious world!

jm and mobs; "normal" is highly overrated...I don't see a choice I 100% support here; but, if it's an either/or i'd have to go with choice #2; partly, because I can see definite merits in Tadema's declaration concerning heterosexual adoptive parents; in the end, the individual person has to take responsibility for how they conduct their lives...no child is raised by perfect parents...although some are a whole let better than others...provocative question Dot...it's a good thing to open dialogue about...but, I'm guessing I'm the only person who answered the question who fits the description of the people your ballot says should be voting...i'm not complaining mind you...

also, the word BASTARD has fallen into disrepute as of late...seems to me that our 21st century culture (at least in America) has become too judgemental...that word shouldn't focus on the child, but rather the parent...in times past it wasn't automatically considered an insult to be called a bastard...it was more a statement of fact, of the hard life that one's parents had created for them.

...and, it's difficult to open up a discussion about morality, when, not only are our people not "on the same page;" but, we don't even use the same book. Not that we should, mind you, again it's just an observation. If it did me any good to get all worked up about I would; but, if you can excuse the expression, I don't think I'm going "to get my panties in a bundle" (besides, I prefer boxers) over the fact that in this democracy people have chosen a different morality than I personally would have chosen had it been left up to me. Thank God it wasn't left up to me...I think my head would explode.
