WOULD YOU START COLLEGE AT THE AGE OF 16?

This is a real question. I put it under politics becuase I figured it would get more exposure. If you were given the chance to start your Freshman year of college a few years shy of being 18, would you? Let's say you were 16. There are issues too consider, such as dorm life becuase if you're a minor living with people who are considered an adult, for your first year, you'd have to have a mentor constantly overseeing your every move. What would you do in this case? Wait, or go for it?

Yes, get it over with sooner
No, you need to grow up more
Maybe, depends on your goals for the future

For this person, the potential obsticles are psychological, as well as logistical. They would most likely have to choose a college in their home city due to family pressure to keep them local for at least 2 years. Also, the integration would be less smooth when faced with the age differential between the typical 18 year old freshman, vs. a 16 year old. I think there may be an element of alienation that could have an impact on the overall "college experience." I don't know that this person has much of a choice though, as remaining in High School when they have already completed the full curriculum would not be possible. Anway, was just curious as to what other's thought about it. Thanks!
