Because it is the Information Highway.
Because they have a thirst for knowledge.
Because they can go anywhere, learn anything, meet people from other countries without having the money to do it otherwise.
You see it as "rotting" while others see it as "experiencing" "learning" "sharing", etc. Just because you don't see it's depth does not mean others don't know how deep the potential is.

One Can spend an awful lot of time on the Internet.. sometimes too much time.. sometimes all the time..
Internet is fun, interesting, easily accessible.. You can jump from place to place and sometimes find useful or desired information..
Too bad that everyone wants to charge you the traditional arm and a leg to access information or pretty pictures..
Too bad that info is not always there, or is very very hard to find..
People are not as accessible as the internet.. People are not necessarily as interesting as or as much fun as the internet.. People can be a bummer, the internet less so..
The internet is always there, accessible.. people are not always there, not accessible, not available, uncaring and unaware and busy busy doing their own thing, things..
Thank you, Science and Technology, for helping to make this lifetime definitely more interesting and fun..!!

An electronic love affair, i.e. with the internet and your computer, can be very helpful and satisfying.. Real people are nice too I suppose, but they are not terribly accessible, or nice, or even intelligent, are they
Internet is just like your brain. You can be researching Encarta for your metallurgy paper one minute...then in an instant, be jerking off to a hardcore mature website to your hearts.....uhhh....anyway, it's just like your brain.
