Or do you think the government knows something it's not telling you. What could that be? Do you really believe these measures will keep us safe from terrorism or is the government only looking out for itself?

Gives the ILLUSION of security

Yes, but not worth it

Probably will but I'd rather know I was safe from my own government.

Oh, of COURSE it will And isn't it terrible that terrorists hate Freedom (tm)?
by Cathexis on Tue Nov 23, 04 5:03pm [+]

What terrorism? Where is all this terrorism we're so afraid of?? Terrorism has decreased considerably over the last decades. It's all a lie. A lie to scare you. To make you accept greater government intervention in your life.

A few parts of the Patriot Act help law enforcement but most of it was a power grab for the government.

I'm with Keithsheen. Where is this new global threat from terrorism?

One off attacks will always occur, they always have and they always will, putting little cards in our wallets is going to prevent anything.

Remember that The Patriot Act II makes it law that you must report people who may just be thinking about "intimidating" the USA. I would be very careful before criticising any governmental organisation. You might end up in Gitmo.
By the way.
I'm wondering which Bush supporting loser will be the first to disappear from this site after they upset their Nazi leadership.

I think we are doomed to wander down the same trail Germany took in the early part of this century. One definition of facist is someone who feels persecuted and inferior while in fact they hold the position of power and control. Sound familiar? He who cannot remember history is condemned to repeat it. Be careful what you say - someone is listening somewhere and he's taking notes. YOU are on Big Brother's list! Are you aware that when you make application for credit now - federal law requires the issuer to supply your name, address, social security number and various other bits of info to the Department of Homeland Security. and just what exactly do they intend to do with this information? Rice and other members of the Bush administration were given repeated and explicit warnings regarding the terrorists efforts and yet failed to act on them. How does comliling a list of Americans applying for credit make them any more competant? How does making me carry a national identification card protect me from foreeign terrorists?
