COMMENTS:
Past history. Most stereotypes are based on fact.
Ignorance and fear that someone else will get an advantage in life that we are "robbed" of.
maybe the world is wnlighted, but people re still stupid.
Agree...Fear and Ignorance
Most steretypes contain an element of truth
Some stereotypes do contain a grain of truth, but there are usually plenty of exceptions to them. In my personal experience, travel has convinced me that people everywhere are all weird in similar ways.
"People want the same things in all countries. Food to eat. Friends and family to love. A modest income. Freedom . Political , religious , freedom to live as they see fit." Really? An extremely high income is much more desirable than a modest income. And friends and family... not very desirable. Also, some people might prefer security over freedom.
Sometimes I am surprisd at how horrible my closest freinds can be to other people (while being nice 99% of the time). I probably lapse into EVIL as well on occasion. You can weigh up the natural instinct to protect your own, and to fear that which is different against the instinct to help those in need. I suggest that EVERYTHING we do is driven by a selfish desire, from calling someone a name, to giving to charity... etc etc. In summation I think ALL people are evil (if there is such a thing).
did i say that? what a tit
well no, you are actually correct. Contoversial as it may seem, all human beings are inherently selfish. Its the nature of being an animal.
Yes, everyone is inherently selfish. I don't think this is evil because selfishness makes sense.
Yep, you can always break it down like that. The only reason we are here is because our ancestors have passed on their genes and selfishly protected them. With this thought, the only characteristics which would be passed on to us are those which lead to us having a better chance of passing on our genes AND protecting them. So, EVERYTHING we do is driven by a selfish desire AND there is no point to your life other than to continue this cycle. It isn't leading anywhere. Is it?
I blame it on the Eskimos, those fat, fur-wearing, fish-eatings f**ks. ;)
Civilian: I agree that continuing the cycle is pointless. Passing on your genes out of selfishness is a misguided kind of selfishness because your genes continue on in someone who is not you. I care about myself as an individual. I do not care about the continuation of my genes.
