I also have a friend from South Africa who lives near my apartment. We crack a joke with each other now and again but we all get along. Travelling in the world gives you an objectivity you can't get living in just one country. People want the same things in all countries. Food to eat. Friends and family to love. A modest income. Freedom . Political , religious , freedom to live as they see fit. Still negative stereotypes persist. All Jews are this , all French are that. It's all the Americans fault! Koreans don't trust the Japanese , Vietnamese fear the Chinese. What perpuates all these negative stereo types? People fear what they dont unsterstand. Lack of empathy and compassion for others. Past History. Lack of education. Nationalism. Apathy and Indifference. The worlds not a "Global" village yet. The world's not as enlightened as we' It's an ongoing socioligical process.
