COMMENTS:
The only punk-pop band that's approaching platinum status is Green Day with "American Idiot." Still, if you consider that Green Day long ago transcended the genre — and that its CD is a critical smash — the punk-pop connection seems less a boon than a liability.
Not a big fan of the garbage they slap the punk label on lately. If you are a fan of pop punk you might enjoy better acts such as The Queers, Screeching Weasel, Groovie Ghoulies, The Ramones, and The Riverdales to name a few.
greenday are pretty good, though I liked their old stuff better
