This must've been my 456th email today, saying that Bush won because people with IQs of 40 voted for him. Liberals, the supposed epitome of justice and tolerance, have seemingly forgotten what their party is all about and seem to want to nail Republicans and conservatives for all they are worth.

It only seems that way. Liberals seem suprisingly INTOLERANT of anyone else.... even though they claim open-mindedness...

Yes, it's true
No, it's... it's....
No
Blue states are a drain on morality
red state are full of uneducated religious nutjobs
Time to raise food prices in blue states. HA! HA!
you know they're just tellin the truth, you pig :)
Ya think?
just intolerant of intolerant people
Ignorance is not a belief
They are more intolerant than those they attack

If they claim "Jesus states," then yeah, that is intolerant. Ignorant, too, considering most of us liberals are Christians.
by xxxxxxxx on Sun Dec 12, 04 1:39am [+]

The leftists are just as intolerant as the Jesus freaks.
by thc2883 on Sun Dec 12, 04 6:43am [+]

Actually most of the hated Christians I've met from the red states are nice people who would make great neighbors. In my travels they were much warmer and more couteous as a whole than left leaning people from the blue states. You have a couple dullards and crackpots but most are quite reasonable and bright people.

I agree with that thc2883.

You see the same thing on college campuses. They'll tolerate anyone of any skin color, religion, sexual preference, whatever (all well and good) so long as they all believe the same things.

They believe in superficial diversity, based on skin color and other trivial things, but absolutely detest intellectual diversity.

What do they do to the dissenters, her-blog? Put them in jail? Murder them?

I think you struck a nerve herzog.
by robotthinker on Mon Dec 13, 04 3:28pm [+]

Yeah, you figured it out, herzog -- we hate intellectual diversity. We want everyone to be robots and think the exact same.

That would make us Republicans.

You openly profess your love for President Bush, her-blog? Don't you think that potential employers might find you really creepy because of that? I know I do.

'Try getting a job at Bob Jones University while openly professing your liberalism.'

Yeah, who ever heard of a liberal professor?

'You openly profess your love for President Bush, her-blog? Don't you think that potential employers might find you really creepy because of that? I know I do.'

No, it was a hypothetical.

However, if you were to get down on your knees and fellate bill clinton in the office they'd give you tenure on the spot in most universities.

Blue states "educate"(IE brainwash) by imposing the dogma of multiculturalism unless you are Jewish. In that case you may well have your own yeshiva to coddle, segregate and keep intact your culture from the Goy.
by robotthinker on Tue Dec 14, 04 6:21pm [+]

'red state are full of uneducated religious nutjobs'

And that sort of bigotry will ensure that they remain red states for years and years to come.
by herzog on Tue Dec 14, 04 9:25pm [+]

"Yeah, who ever heard of a liberal professor?"

(Obviously I get the sarcasm...) Gee, I wonder why a lot of professors are liberal. Could it be because, perhaps, they're more EDUCATED?
by xxxxxxxx on Wed Dec 15, 04 1:22am [+]

And you never really retorted my point about Bob Jones University, herzog -- interesting...
by xxxxxxxx on Wed Dec 15, 04 1:23am [+]

CT: Bob jones is hardly representative of the majority now is it? The majority of the staff at most colleges are liberal. End of story. And they like to hire people who fit in with their line of thinking, or who espouse no politics.

The reason most professors are liberal is that they never have to deal with reality. All they need to use is theory, wether it works in the real world or not is irrelevent. And as a result they tend to be liberal, all highminded idealism without any taint of reality.
by herzog on Wed Dec 15, 04 8:02am [+]

My question is ...

How much longer can a group that holds all of the political power in the country sit around positioning themselves as outsiders and victims?

When will they sit up and finally start taking responsibility for their OWN actions instead of constantly casting about for others to whine about?
by Cathexis on Wed Dec 15, 04 11:31am [+]

Well if you're going to point out Berkeley, which isn't like most colleges either (prestige, stigma), I'm well within my rights to point out Bob Jones University, something you're afraid to do. Berkeley isn't representative of the majority by any means, either -- it's interesting that you picked the most liberal college in the nation to try and prove all colleges are liberal.

And that's interesting that you said most college professors never had to deal with reality. In the department I studied in, every single professor -- I repeat, EVERY ONE -- had real-world experience before going into education. They've had to deal with reality -- they've lived it. Thus, herzog, your point is moot. Fact of the matter is, college professors are highly educated, and many of them do have real-world experience. But college professors tend to be more liberal because they're more educated -- they know well enough to be liberals.

Cathexis makes an excellent point.
by xxxxxxxx on Thu Dec 16, 04 12:25am [+]

CT: berkley is far closer to being an average college, as far as the bias of the proffessors go, than Bob Jones U. is.

You claim being educated makes a person liberal. Did you know that kerry won both the extremely well educated (like say people who live in acadamia and never need to visit the real world, doctors of womens studies and such) and the highschool dropouts? It seems ignorance makes a person liberal. Those people who graduated highschool, went to college, then left and found gainful employment in the real world went solidly for bush.
by herzog on Fri Dec 17, 04 1:25pm [+]

Aside from Berkeley being a public school, how is it any similar to the average college? At the school I went to, I had both liberal and conservative professors.

Oh, and so let me get this straight -- you're claiming that professors are liberal, but ignorance makes someone liberal.

And the statistics you gave me were based on exit polls, which you already said are inaccurate.

Flip-flopping, are we?
by xxxxxxxx on Sat Dec 18, 04 12:55am [+]

Oh and there's also me -- a man who holds a bachelor's degree, has an IQ of 167, and had a perfect score on part of my Graduate Requirement Exam -- something only one in 25 people get.

But I'm a liberal, so I guess I'm ignorant.
by xxxxxxxx on Sat Dec 18, 04 12:57am [+]

'Aside from Berkeley being a public school, how is it any similar to the average college?'

Liberal bias. I got to what is deemed a very conservative campus, and it is as far as the students go. But the professors lean overwhelmingly to the left. Not in any of my math or science classes, but in every other one.

'Oh, and so let me get this straight -- you're claiming that professors are liberal, but ignorance makes someone liberal.'

Yes. A little bit of knowledge and no experiance is a dangerous combo. That's why they tend to believe in communism and other such things, it sounds good on paper they just ignore all the evidence against it.

'And the statistics you gave me were based on exit polls, which you already said are inaccurate.'

It was taken by a different, less obviously biased group.

You could be the most brilliant astro-physicist in the known universe and still not know a damned thing about politics. To be liberal you don't have to be ignorant in every field, just those relating to how a country should run. I'll come to you if I want advice on astro-physics, but leave the politics to the rest of us.
by herzog on Sun Dec 19, 04 2:03pm [+]

HAHAHAHA! I can't believe you actually think ignorance makes people liberal. At least you confessed that Cal-Berkeley is different from the average college. As for me not knowing a damned thing about politics, this comes from a guy who will defend Bush no matter what he says or does. If you really claim I'm ignorant about politics, you're either 1) jealous of my political knowledge, or 2) ignorant yourself. I'm not an expert politically -- there are too many nuances to call myself an expert -- but I'm not a novice either. I know my politics, I know Kerry's not a liberal (something you're not willing to admit despite overwhelming evidence), I know that outsourcing is bad for the average American (as you blindly defend the companies -- you DEFENDED outsourcing), and you referred to war hero and honorable Sen. Kerry as "evil", despite Bush blowing Iraq to smithereenes, killing thousands of innocent Iraqis and over 1000 American soldiers, for his own personal political purposes. Stop being Bush's butt-boy and leave the politics to the people who actually care about the betterment of America.

since that whole lower IQ thing was fake,, it just makes liberals look that much worse
by RawIron on Tue Feb 22, 05 7:17pm [+]

I dont like to label myself as liberal or conservative. I have what people would call some liberal views on somethings. Andmore conservative views on others. i do politics at college. Alot of people who started at the beggining where the kind of people who have read a little bit on marxist philosophy think there some kinda revelutionary and wear bandanas. Most of them lasted a few months. The problem with looking at things from a socialist viewpoint is they tend to pick out injustices and problems, but dont provide a workable answer for them. The facts as i have found them is that socialists are just as closed minded to conservative views as the other way round. George bush may not be the most intelligent man in the world but there is many very intelligent conservatives. Having said all this i supose the is some very backward thinking in some of the so called "jesus states". Opinions on different races sexualitys etc. They are proberly maybe morally less developed in accordance with societys morals, however iq is natural intelligence its what your born with though most iq tests still require knowledge so dont actually measure iq completely accuratly.

They whinge non-stop and are full of shit. In the process they try to force their dumbass views on others (by physical and verbal derogatory attacks at times).

Hence proving their own intolerance of others. Hypocrits
